I wonder why anybody mentioned it before, but Juliet has dirty fingers.

I think she pressed 1 2 3 5 6 (in order: 5-1-6-2-3)
Maybe the left and right one of the top buttons too?

Or am I crazy when i think some of the buttons are more dirty than the others? ^^

I saw the same thing. The numbers had mud from her fingers on them. I think she keyed...1-5-1-6-2-3......we have seen these numbers before!!!!!

I thought it odd that Juliet - handcuffed to Kate, abandoned by the Others, left to fend on her own - had the handcuff key in her back pocket!!!  :-\

Oh and it just struck me - I'm not very musically inclined, but has anyone tried to use the numbers to make music?? Music is a universal constant........

8 isn't a musical tone tho... it goes from 1 -> 7, then back to 1

I agree with hackgrid/ solost with the numbers... I saw that 5 was pressed and I was gonna come in here to write about it, but I guess y'all beat me to it ;)

C key would be more common.  But this is sounding too "Close Encounters-ish" for me.  lol

From what I could see, she put in some number before the camera panned around.  Then she entered 16-23 while we could see.  As far as I could tell, she never entered in the 42 to complete the "Numbers" sequence.  There's no dirt on the 4, so that seems to back me up.  There's an article up now on the main page that revisits the blast door map.  In that article, it recalls that there is a note by the Arrow Station that says "destination in case of code 42."

Could it be that they use the sequence as a common passcode around the Island, but entering in the 42 means something, like sounding an alarm or signifying the occurence of a catastrophic event?

Maybe it's also a failsafe.  Maybe everyone (the Others) knows not to enter in the entire sequence.  Maybe if someone else guesses that the Numbers are being used as a code and tries to use them to open a secure area. the inclusion of the 42 either locks everything down or sounds an alarm.
