Probably already discussed but I just wanted to point out this theme. This was mentioned twice during the show, once by Sawyer and once by Nikki. As the episode played out it rang pretty true.

Between the two of them N&P knew about the wrecked plane, the pearl station, and even Ben's plan. But they provided our Losties nothing.

On the other hand, if the Losties would of made the effort to include N&P then maybe they wouldn't have ended up as they did. They could have at least warned about if not stopped a lot of the Other's plans.

The same could be said about the Losties too. Nobody shares any info with anybody else.

Jack: Hey we got a prisoner in the hatch, his name is Henry Gale, he says he crashed on a balloon. Oh yeah Micheal's back too
Paulo: Hey that guy was in the Pearl Station Plotting to capture you, kate, and sawyer. Oh yeah he's going to use Micheal to do it too.

The reason they didnt share info was they had the diamonds stashed there...thats why they wanted to go and investigate when Locke invited anyone to go...protecting their hidden stash. They didnt mention it before (finding it the first time) because they didnt want anyone knowing what they were doing out there, looking for the diamonds.

Nikki doesn't care for anyone but herself, and Paulo does't care for anyone but Nikki.  They are just too self involved.  I find it hard to believe Paulo actually complained about being left out.  Even so, a HATCH on an island is pretty big news.  Just goes to show how useless these people were.

You know, if Paulo would have survived, I would guess that he would soon be a Locke-protoge (sp?).  He and Locke have a lot in common that way.  Like when they realized Ana Lucia had a gun and he said, "Um Jack, I need to tell you something."  I know Paulo didn't want to reveal his hiding spot, but "Um, Jack, I need to tell you something" ya know!

Remember, Nikki did not know that the diamonds had been found at that point. Yes, she did volunteer herself and Paulo to go along with them, but she did not know the diamonds were there. If anything, all it did was prompt Paulo to retrieve them because he probably felt they were no longer safe.
