The Symbols on Locke's TV Tray:
« on: March 24, 2007, 01:05:05 AM »
This is at 8 minutes into the episode.  Not coincidental, but appear to be of a variety like you would see on the hatch clock at 108.

Also, the television news broadcast that he is listening to is garbled, changes, and then the show changes.

Were any of the things on Locke's TV tray similar to the things found on the "tray" in the Pearl station?

The symbol on his tray of the circle with the dot in the middle is reminiscent of the alchemy symbol for gold.  Also, one looks like the rune 'othala' which can be interpreted to represent: what is truly important, and aid in a spiritual journey, and what a man is bound to do.

Trying to find more info on other symbols there, if indeed they do hold some significance...

It was a western motif TV tray, & they are cattle/livestock brands.  See them all the time out here in Californey.

Listen to the TV broadcast....does anybody have the capability to process this.  There is a reporter talking about stolen bolivian gold....it jumbles...there is commotion....she says he's here....then it breaks up with loud noises and a different show is heard!

I hear something  about the gold deposits being stolen at around 2 am, then it says "that means... the cobra! is back!"  then maybe something along the lines of "he's been shot?  i can't find him!  behind winged victory! it's his arms (?) i can get him!"  It seems like it switches from a news broadcast to a mystery show...?

Wishbone beat me. I was just about to post this pic too.

I don't see anything odd about the tray. Other than the fact that a 30+ yr old man is using a kiddie tray to eat his TV Dinner lol
