« on: March 22, 2007, 11:48:25 AM »

in episode 12 we see a map of the barracks, around the barracks we see the security system. mikail told us, it is impossible to go around it... so they go over it...
everyone understand?
so my question...
how is it possible to go from the barracks to the open see where the sub is not passing the security system???
is this a small mistake

touche, Lex.  Good point.  Plus, it took Locke and Alex like a minute to get from Otherville to the dock.

Maybe it's an inlet and the fence goes out further than where the dock is.  Perhaps the sub cannot be affected by the fence OR the sub goes under before it goes past the fence.

OH!!! That would a possible explanation of why they need the sub
and the only way they can get off the island, I mean other than what Goober posted.
Good point!

I would guess that it is some kind of inlet and then the sub goes under the fence.

The map isn't to scale. It has to be close to the beach for Goodwin to get to the Tail Section so fast.

I'll hope on the inlet bandwagon. The inlet wasn't on the electrial wiring map. It wasn't a topography map.

There are topographical markings on the Cabling map.  It appears to indicate a higher elevation to the West and a gradual slope downward when heading East.

Nowhere is there any beachfront shown.

Maybe John could've followed the underground passages.  He had Alex escort him to the sub dock, so she could've either taken him through a passage or disabled the fence.

I agree with the tunnel idea

I think the sub is in a lil pond so to speak and u go down to an underground tunnel to get to the ocean.

On the map it says something something 20 feet deep.  maybe its how deep the pond is.

-when it is a tunnel, it will be a BIG tunnel, a sub must go trough it...

-when the sub is outside the fence and locke followed alex trough a tunnel under the fence, the sub is lying there ungard so everybody who follows the coastline (f.e. with a sailboat) could see a dock with a sub... so the island is larger then we thought.

or

-the writers are stuck!!! and can't follow any more

or

-maybe we ask to much questions and we are confusing each other with our questions :-D

its only television....

I found it odd that they had to walk through the jungle to get to the sub.  You'd think they'd have a nicely paved bike path down to the most important item they own.  That being said, I think they went through a tunnel under the fence to get to the docks.

Their map did show tunnels that were 20' deep.  Could a sub navigate through a tunnel like that?  I don't know that much about subs.  I can barely back my minivan out of a Wal-Mart parking space, so I can't imagine it would be an easy thing to do.

The sub was probably unguarded because Ben wanted Locke to blow it up, therefore he was facilitating it by keeping it easy for him to walk down the dock unmolested.

I mean this in general, not only when locke is heading for the sub also the whole time,...

Ok then....so how was Danielle down there too then?

If there were tunnels how would she get to them?

If not and the security system was in place how did she get through?

So I tend to agree with Scrod the sub was unguarded
On the other hand why would it even be guarded to begin with if it was inside "the zone"
Ahhh who cares!!
