I think Ben has the same precognitive ablilities as Desmond. That is why he agreed to let Juliet and Jack go. He knew they would never be able to get off the island. That is why he appears so smart and manipulative. No one can be that smart. He must have prior knowledge of events and the actions of others on the island.

Wouldn't he have foreseen he'd have a tumor on his spine and get it taken care of or at least make sure his surgeon, Ethan, didn't die like he would've foreseen?

Maybe Ben knew the plane with a back surgon was going to crash land.

I do like this idea that ben can sense the future like Desmond can.

I don't think Ben can see the future, but he's been on the island his whole life so he knows how it "course corrects"...things just always work for the betterment of the island.

lockes dad is the real sawyer im kinda lost on that . what is sawyers real name does anyone know? this episode just brings up more questions like always but answerd alot. i think that ben can see the future just like desmond but i dont think that locke can . I know that locke saw something about the island when he had that incounter with smokey so what is jack goin to do know will they let him go or what.
