I bet that Ben will tell Jack that he might want to make sure his half-sister and nephew are safe. I can see Ben using that information to black mail Jack.
I know Jack thinks he will be able to leave and that Ben was a man of his word about letting him go if he operated, but I think some of that was pure Benry lies.
I think that Jack will go back to the beach to make sure that his newly discovered family is kept safe. Maybe Jack has a picture of Christian, or maybe even we'll see more of Christian walking around the island (as Smokie or as himself).

good thoughts, but i don't agree. so far none of our off island connections have been revealed on island. no one (except desmond) has realized the connections. after 3 seasons, and hoping for 2 more (at least) why would the writers start revealing them now? they won't start tieing up string until the last season. i think they will keep us guessing and hoping, but i don't think it will ever happen.

WOW! I love this theory. While I have always believed that Ben would attempt to keep his word to Jack, but something/ someone would prevent it from actually happenning. So whether it is Ben or someone else, I agree that Jack will end up being "motivated" to stay for the sake of Claire & Aaron instead of taking his chance @ safe passage home alone. His bond with Kate is dwindling, his bond with Juliet is growing, but once he finds out about Claire, I think that she (& Aaron) will be his primary concern. Re: the picture of Christian. I think that Jack my have his dad's wallet from the hotel room in Australia!

1) What video?
2) Saywer told Jack that he met Christian and that Christian was proud of Him. (Season 1)
If all of the flashbacks are real, and aren't just made up by the island, people will start finding out what they have in common. Seriously if you have been on an island 80-90 days, wouldn't you tell every story about everyone you know, a hundred times? Even with 40 people, you would run out of things to talk about.

I'm not convinced Jack will just go alone anyway - he'll want to save everyone

As I recall, SAWYER KNOWS, but never detailed that to Jack. He only tell that "he believe his dad is..." Maybe Jack has a picture of Christian, or maybe even we'll see more of Christian walking around the island (as Smokie or as himself).
I believe that this picture of Christian on the wallet will pop up someday too.

Smokey turned into Locke. That gave him the power of being always right. Hence he is the good one, winner of game and everything else for now on.

As I recall, SAWYER KNOWS, but never detailed that to Jack. He only tell that "he believe his dad is..." This connection was revealed on S1E23. SAWYER [calling after Jack as he walks away]: Jack. About a week before we all got on the plane I got to talking to this man in a bar in Sydney. He was American, too. A doctor. I've been on some benders in my time, but this guy -- he was going for an all time record. It turns out this guy has a son -- his son's a doctor, too. They had some kind of big time falling out. The guy knew it was his fault even though his son was back in the States thinking the same damn thing. See, kids are like dogs, you knock them around enough they'll think they did something to deserve it. Anyway, there's a pay phone in this bar. And this guy, Christian, tells me he wishes he had the stones to pick up the phone, call his kid, tell him he's sorry, that he's a better doctor than he'll ever be -- he's proud, and he loves him. I had to take off, but something tells me he never got around to making that call. Small world, huh?

Wow, so Sawyer had the guts to tell the whole story. I really can't remember well the first season because I watched each episode only once, and even never saw some of them, as the one with Locke's Mom, and Boone's death.

I'm rusty on some of the details of past episodes, too. Lostpedia is my friend.
