Vincent is really Cerebus aka the security system/Smokie.
We never saw Vincent's body, because Cerebus took it, like he did with the other bodies
(Christian, Yemmi's, etc.)

VINCENT IS SMOKIE
Ive said this for along time now, And im sticking to it.
Vincent was Walts dog and died whent he plane crashed. Smokie found his body and now takes his place and is able to see what the losties are doing and able to show them where stuff is.
Reasoning
The producers said we missed something in the first five minutes of the pilot == We see smokie randomly appearing to Jack and walking next to some other losties later.
Locke (who is in touch with the island) gets Vincent back for Walt.
In season one when we see Ruth(i think thats her name the black lady), When Charlie tells her she can come and be with the rest of the losties. Charlie also says that the beast is gone, and she says that just cause we havent heard it lately doesnt mean he is gone. (not exact but something like that), Once vincent joins them on the beach we dont see/here the monster anymore.
Vincent takes walt to the polar bear.
Vincent takes Hurley and Charlie to the VW Bus.

And we now see Vincent again for two reasons. The one stated above, and Smokie senses that the others are coming back to the main island. With Walt and Michael I may add.
Smokie equals Vincent
Christian equals alive
Jack and Claire equal step siblings.

There's ONE thing wrong: Smokey only appear on it's alternate form to ONE PERSON AT A TIME.
Shows up as Christian only to Jack.
Shows up as Yemmi only to Eko.
Shows up as Dave only to Hurley.
Only exception is allowing Sayid to see it as Walt, while appearing to Shannon, but vanishes when tailies come near.
That's really Vincent, because if it was Smokey, Walt was the only one who could not fooled.

see but i believe smokey can appear as people in your head or to everyone.
the reason i believe this, is for Eko because SMokie appeared as the Alter Boy and the three other men that were at the church, Smokie never saw those people just used Ekos mind so see use them against him.
I still believe Vincent is Smokie.

We see Vincent's body everytime we see vincent. He is still using the body! |

Surprised the pro Vincent is smokey crowd has not been pushing the fact that vincent was always right there when Hurley was praying. Sitting against the tree, vincent was at his feet and he was beside the car before it was pushed over.
