Juliet's Mark
« on: February 22, 2007, 12:16:15 AM »
How is Juliet's mark going to affect anything.  I don't see any of them going around in belly shirts.  Is someone really going to see it?  And more importantly... what does the mark mean for her.  Three strikes and you are Out?

What was it exactly, the symbol? Like a star?

It was spoken of as a known punishment, is it done often and why do they do it?

And when you "mark" someone isn't the point of it to be visible so that everyone can see it? I would have liked it to have been on her cheek or forehead!

Oh, and what was the logo on the podium at the "trial"? The Hydra?

looked like an asterik as in * only the top line was longer.

dont see why a marking would be bad. except if at the end times that seals her fate. kinda like jake being marked in phuket.

I'm wondering this myself, too.  Is the mark unique to Lost mythology, or is it a cultural reference?

Interesting... " The combination of the diagonal cross with a vertical line is of special importance in Western ideography. It is the sign for Jesus Christ (from the initials of the Lord's name in Greek: I and X). "

maybe she is marked sort of like with moses where the mark of sheeps blood saved the children but the opposite effect happens here. maybe when dharma, ben, and the devil try to wipe out the earth those that are marked get killed. or maybe that means she was a bad girl and doesnt get hanso pension.  ;)

the mark actually looked to me like what people draw to signify which star is the north start.

The Jesus stick says lift up your eyes and look north.   or something like that.
