Notice the song on the juke box in the pub?
« on: February 15, 2007, 03:01:37 AM »
Hadn't seen this mentioned, but the song Desmond recognizes in the pub juke box is the Mamas and the Papas song we hear blasting in the hatch the very first time we saw inside the hatch in Episode 2x1.  I thought that was a nice little connection by the writers.  You can barely hear it in the first pub scene. And it isn't clear what song it is in the 2nd scene either, until right when Jimmy Lennon comes storming in with his bat.

I thought it was clear the 2nd time.  At least I knew what was drawing his attention to the music the whole time.

But, yeah.  Good job in connecting that!

How about Charlie singing Oasis's Wonderwall: "You're gonna be the one that saves me" to Des on the street ... foreshadowing much.

They were also playing "Building a Mystery" by Sarah McLachlan in the background while Des was getting dressed before his meeting with Widmore... ;)

The song by Charlie was perfect foreshadowing  ;) Could it mean no matter what that Des IS able to alter the future by saving Charlie??

Heres what i think and what ive stated in another thread.  On the island it may be different and you die in someone elses place.  I think Charlie will not die but des will,  Soon enough.

I have a list of Losties which i think will never die on this show

Jack
Kate
Sawyer
Locke
Charlie
Walt

Maybe
Sayid

I agree with Mr. Crazy... finally ;D

These people cannot die or the show will be harmed (either in that people will leave, or the story will die)

Des will play a Neo and sacrifice himself for Charlie, although this time, Des will be dead, unlike Neo...

Surely Walt won't be seen again.  The kid's probably a foot taller now!

I think Des will save Charlie and I think Locke and his faith in the island could be what helps Dessie.

I did notice the song both times but I had the telly on LOUD!!! :D
