Rachel in Miami "All Alone"--but now she's pregnant??

One of the things that Juliet says to her sister  at the beginning of the epi is, I don't like you living here all alone.  And she responds that she likes the beach.  How is she living all alone, and yet prengant?? 

Some people seem to be theorizing the mysterious Jacob as Rachel's baby's dad.  We also see Ethan leaving her room (or at least walking down the hallway nearby).  Anyone have any thoughts on this??

Juliet can impregnate a male rat. This means that she probably implanted an egg etc etc... I won't get into the birds and the bees

There's a possibility that Juliet used hormones to make Rachel pregnant. Also, there's artificial insemination.

Yeah.  Good point.  Would be funny if the baby was Juliette's ex-husbands.  Maybe that was the ethical question?  Stealing sperm or fertilized eggs (cause if she was that sick, Rachel couldn't have produced any healthy ones) from someone to impregnate a sick person without their knowledge?

I wondered if Rachel was somehow in on the whole job thing - we saw Ethan near her apartment and Juliette didn't want to leave her alone. The guy offering the job knew her sister was pregnant too.

I don't think it was artificial insemination, not usually done with an injection in the belly. After the mouse comment I think it is something all clevery science like. Juliette must have been good at her job for them to want her so much.

I believe Ethan was leaving the apartment next to Rachels and is using it to spy on her to get information on Juliette.

To me Juliet and her sister were experimenting so it would be sperm from donation bank. Ethan didnt get her pregnant he was spying on her so that they could use this information to scare/convince Juliet into coming with them.

Just rewatched the show. ethan came out of a room or hallway before Rachel room. He was not in her room.

What struck me was that if Juliette was on the island for three years, two months and 28 days, does she know if the pregnancy went full term or not and if it did, her niece or nephew would now be a toddler?

This is one of my big questions. Did Rachel carry the baby to term and did she regain her health?
If so I think Ben threatens Juliet with their lives to make her comply.
If not does Ben just keep telling her they are alive to use it as a bargaining tool?
 Does Juliet know anything about them since she arrived on the island?

I wonder if Rachel's cancer made a hysterectomy necessary.  Juliet impregnated a male mouse, so maybe a womb isn't required in her research.  Also, sperm might not be required.  Her ex said her work was very cutting-edge.
