Fertile imagination??
« on: October 25, 2006, 11:48:45 PM »
So we have Juliet claiming she is a "fertility doctor." Why do The Others need one? We've seen hints of a couple of couples, Juliet and Ben seem to have some kind of connection and Colleen was Danny's "wife" (even though the kiss he planted on her a few episodes ago was anything but romantic). If she is what she says, it certainly lends credence to the Kate and Sawyer mating theory. But if she's a fertility doctor, where are the children? Where was she when Claire was kidnapped? What's with Desmond's sudden interest in Aaron's safety?

I can't answer most of your questions, but I will say that I think Des was concerned about Aaron because he's a baby. I'd be concerned about Aaron too!

Um, I'd say Desomnd was concerned b/c he's a nice guy and was able to foresee claire's roof getting struck by lightning and didn't want anyone to get hurt.

I believe the Others need a fertility doctor to avoid the "Founder's Effect"

It may have been her speciatly or that they do need one because of the sickness so far i dont think we have a clear answer to this one

agreed  but   i also think tonight showed that they are using or were using Kate as bait ie a way to break sawyer
But if she's a fertility doctor, where are the children? Where was she when Claire was kidnapped?
Good question i would agree that she should have been seen or at least refered to in some way  but  this is lost so.....
What's with Desmond's sudden interest in Aaron's safety?

Just a shot in the dark but perhaps the Others are just trying to repopulate and that's why they are getting the "good" ones and the children first so that they can copulate a new race for this armageddon that the numbers are foretelling (as per the Lost Experience)

there has been a lot of talk on site about that being a reason they have taken the people that they have

i think the gene pool is a bit small for repopulation  but  i am not a genetics expert so take it for what it is worth

I am not quite positive on this, but I remember someone saying that Kate was now useless after they did all of that to Sawyer.  Anyone else hear this or am I crazy ?!?!?! :o

Um, maybe to help facilitate controlled population growth instead of just reproducing like rabbits...or maybe living out there has caused fertility problems...

Usually the couples who need a fertility doctor are the ones who do NOT have children...because something is keeping them from concieving naturally. So it would make sense that there are not a bunch of children running around.

Claire was already pregnant, so wouldn't need a fertility doctor...once you're as far along as Claire you'd go to an obstetrician.

It wasn't a sudden interest...he would have had the same interest had it been anyone else's roof about to be hit by lightning.

Ethan was trying to fix Juliette's plumbing when Oceanic 815 crashed.  Ethan was working on Claire when she was taken to the medical facility.  It's possibe that Juliette and Ethan are both Fertility Docs.

San Diego Johnny, you've hit the nail on the head.

I think Ethan was a doctor because he was the one giving Claire the shots for the baby.

Plumping...Fertility. Very funny. Yes, that has to be a connection.

It gives credability to theories of wanting sawyer and Kate to conceive. It was an interesting tidbit. It also could simpley that she was working with reproduction of the animals and their studies on them

I agree with Jugs....(I know most people call you Juggy - but I kinda like Jugs...)

Anyway - I think Ethan and Juliette are both Fertility specialists...and I think it has more to do with the animals than people....
