Are They Keeping Jack Drugged via Food/Water...?
« on: October 12, 2006, 05:46:29 PM »
Watching the ep last night, both times Jack had contact with his captors he seemed really "out of it..." listless and kind of doped up. I'm wondering if he's being drugged - either some kind of mind-altering thing or something to make him passive or more agreeable to suggestion...?

he's not eating...lack of food and/or water could be why Jack seems out of it...

And he is probably still wallowing instead of letting go.

I guess I agree with all the statements above... I think it's a combination of lack of food/water, and him being emotionally "broken" after Juliet was playing mind games with him.  But I guess possible that he's got some drugs lingering in there, too.

I agree with Pandora about Jack being broken emotionally.
Have you ever been depressed?

Jack is having a hard time coping with himself.
His plan failed, Kate and Sawyer are captured.
He has had to confront that he his ex-wife is happy without him.
He had to deal with his father's death again.
He is stuck in a fish tank.
He is being messed with my Dr. Demento Ben Linus....

I don't think that he is being drugged.

I should add that I don't see how they could be drugging him if he is not eating or drinking.  I agree the could possibly be lingering as Pandy suggested, but I think Bob is right.

If he doesn't start eating soon, the hallucinations are really going to get to him...

I think it's more of the broken and depressed thing that is keeping him passive.

He is more passive-aggressive than purely passive, though. He's defying Juliet and Benry by not eating.

When Ben walked into the room to offer Jack a deal we had a short overview of the Soup Juliet brought in. It hadn't been touched, and I doubt the water had either. Jack's dehidrated, exhausted, lack of nutrition and physically lathargic from what Juliet told him. I don't think he's been drugged. Despite the needle they put in him shortly after they were captured (whether they took something out of him, or put something in him).

I think Jack has been eating, and that he's being drugged. But on top of all of that, he probably is looking all banged up because he is being kept in a cage with no fresh air, and no sunlight, and he probably can't get any sleep with all of the ambient noise from the whales and what not around him. He looks like crap because he's being treated like it.

True...True. But Claire was all dopey, Jack is all depressed. They wer going to do a  C-section on Claire, and probably wanted to keep her safe and in that medical station.
