Once in a while, I would say maybe 5 times in the last couple weeks.  I just figured I was inadvertiently double clicking or something.  I also use the crappy a$$ borwser built into my RSS aggregator, and I fiugured that contributed.

hit the "back" button before clicking on anything else... copy your text if it's still there... exit the thread... re-enter the thread and paste

You know what, I have the SAME EXACT PROBLEM!  I have no idea what the issue is either, since I don't really go behind the scenes with this forum.  I know it's very frustrating, since sometimes my posts as Index files are very long, and I don't want to lose my stuff.

As OLLY said, definitely try "back" first, as more than half the time it's still there.  I also copy all the text.  If you can remember to do this, this is a safe precaution every time you post... I know it's a pain... but if you wrote a long post and don't want to lose it, I suggest people do this, since it takes less than a second to do.

What I do is, I go BACK first, COPY, then go BACK again, and click MODIFY again.  Never just use back and forth arrows when trying to modify more than once, only go back in this case.  Then I PASTE the message in and SUBMIT again.

The few rare times this doesn't work, you can try going FORWARD to the error page again, and click REFRESH.  Sometimes it actually submits the second time around.

It's hard to explain, sorry if this is confusing.

it's not confusing, i'm sort of getting used to copying and pasting all of my posts.  it is just a bit of a pain.  and when i forget it is usually those longer posts, and it drives me crazy!!

Yep, I've had the same problem and I've been doing the same with pressing back and copying my post etc. Really strange but I guess there will always be glitches.

Glad you mentioned it because I was beginning to think it was just me!

I'm curious, has anyone figured out what makes a difference between the time you get this error msg and which times you don't?  To me, it seems random.  Because I am DEFINITELY pressing the modify button and not just the "forward" button or doing something different.

I haven't had a problem with posting, modifying, etc.... so I have no clue what you are all talking about. How are you all posting? I go to the last post of the thread and click reply.

Same here, but if you are posting to quickly (i'm assuming) to the same thread over and over it seems to do this to ya at the worst of times...lol Copying/pasting seems to be working for me though.  Wink

i think it is pretty random, but i think it must also depend on what computer you are using.  when i am at home i don't get the message, when i'm at work i do?
