Lost Clone: More mythology than characters
« on: May 27, 2010, 03:46:33 PM »
God bless late night television. I came across a movie, and I couldn't help but be reminded of LOST. This thing was about a mysterious Island with time warps, hatches, elemental monsters, monsters that take the form of loved ones, mysterious natives, struggle between good and evil, ancient ruins, etc.

Even though it had all these similar story elements, the main difference was that the main characters were pathetically bland. There was no depth to them at all, as opposed to the character driven Lost. Let me tell you, this movie.....suuuuuuucked. So, I liked the mythology of Lost just as much as anyone else, but after seeing this movie, I really understood that what kept my interest in Lost for so many years wasn't just the mysteries, it was because I cared about the characters.

If you ever get a chance, the movie is called "Escape from Atlantis" made in like 1997 I think.
