Jacob blessed the water...perhaps the entire stream?
« on: May 20, 2010, 10:43:13 PM »
Did it seem that when Jacob held the water in his hand and blessed it, he then dropped the blessed water back into the stream, as a kind of hedging his bets???

Does this mean that he knows something that we don't?
Could this mean that he was allowing someone else to drink from the stream other than Jack and become like him?
Could this mean that Jack will not last past our series finale as the New Jacob?
Could this lead to Hurley becoming the New Jacob, b/c Hugo said "I am just glad it wasn't me", foreshadowing?

thoughts?

Interesting thought, but I'm thinking it's really just the ceremony that does it.  It's the words that transfer power, the water (wine) is just symbolic.

I wondered that...is there a rule that says there can be only one protector? If not, then why not have them all be like him! And if Jack can change the rules now that he is in charge, I would change that one and have anyone that wanted to protect have the "special power"

Let's hope Jack ends this "once' and no more protectors are needed!

I don't think they are really rules, just more of like guidlines...
