The Name Game
« on: May 12, 2010, 11:31:49 AM »
Okay.  I think we are all getting frustrated and confused and mainly it's because Jacob's Brother does not have a name.  Let's give him an official Sledgeweb name.  This way, when we're talking about him pre-light diving, we'll call him by his "official" name and when speaking of the dude (MIB, Flock, etc.) who is dressing up in dead bodies, we are making a clear distinction.

Quick note though- the story of our Jacob and his twin has very little in common with the biblical story.

1. Rebecca knew she was having twins.
2. Esau was the eldest
3. Esau wanted his birth right
4. Jacob was favored

Good luck, someone else tried this idea before, and it didn't take.

WIN!

Seriously though, we already call adult version Man In Black due to IMDB saying that was the name of the role. So why not just do that again. IMDB called him the Boy In Black. Seems fitting to me.

For a while I was sticking to Man #2 because that's how IMDB listed him. LOL

I don't think Boy in Black will work because we've seen him as an adult pre-Smokie

It may be easiest just to refer to them as they are: MIB and Smokie.  MIB has been dead for what, maybe thousands of years?  Smokie is NOT MIB but came from the light.  We've never truly seen MIB until this episode.  Everything else has been Smokie.

This one is the one I said too, but giving him a funny name is just more fun  ;)
I really think the writers are going to leave us hanging on this one, just because I don't think it was ever a big deal in the story line. I mean he changes appearances and he isn't himself anymore so eh, at least it's not Paulo!

I love the fact that many of us think it's just "Brother" and how it sorta kinda ties in with Desmond's use of "Brotha".  Ahhhh great minds think a like! :)

There's a pretty strong suggestion that MiB is Smokie. I doubt we'll ever get a more definite answer than what we saw last night, though.

I'm okay with brother, or we could just call him boy in black with the understanding that this refers to him as child and adult before he became Smokey.
