Who brought Claudia to the Island?

Did Mother bring Claudia's people to the Island (because she wanted to find her own replacement)?

Or did the Island bring them (and it's Mother's job to make sure new people never find the Light Cave, and Mother saw her chance to raise her own replacements)?

Jacob told Richard he brought him to the island. Jacob told MiB he brought that boat to the island. I'm assuming that Mother brought Claudia to the island for her replacement. Jacob and MiB were candidates.

I don't know about that. Ma looked kind of shocked to see someone there, and to see her pregnant. If we're operating on the idea that she and Jacob did the same stuff, then wouldn't she know that she was coming, and that she was pregnant??

I believe it's a little of both. The Island knows what it wants and somehow controls it's Keeper to bringing them to the Island. I'm sure there are theories on how Mother was brought there. She told MIB that she came to the island the same way he did. Which I assumed she was shipwrecked?

I assumed she meant by accident.

I didn't think she looked shocked at all.  She was just standing over Claudia at the pool.  Claudia had all the questions, mother didn't ask any.  She seemed relieved to finally have a possible replacement (even two) to take over for her, like she knew they were coming eventually.

Well, this could be why so many of us are divided on how good of a job she did in this episode. None of us got the same feeling from what she was doing. LOL

Opie, I'm slightly lost on what you're saying here. Are you saying that Mother was expecting a woman to come pregnant with a child, and the fact that Claudia was pregnant with twins was the surprise??

She went to get Claudia like she expected her,
but it looks like she didn't count on the second baby being there.

the question should be who brought claudia and the rest of her people the island  ..claudia just happened to be all alone separated from her group    it does look like the mother was expecting claudia
