Where is Widmore?

He wasn't on the sub and didn't appear to be in the station where the cages were.  Most of his people seem to be dead.  Any thoughts as to where he is - or is that who MIB went after to 'finish' things?

Really makes you wonder what side Widmore is on, he says that MIB is coming and then disappears for his men to be killed.

Perhaps Widmore wants to trap MIB on the Hydra and he went to the main island? Just a thought
