I think Jack is doing a lot more listening now (to the island) than talking.  So he is starting to understand more piece by piece.  He is paying attention to things around him and becoming a lot more intuitive.

Exactly.  When he was explaining all the "he can't kill us, we have to do it ourselves" on the submarine when he was trying to keep Sawyer from messing with the C-4, I was like "FINALLY!  Jack was actually RIGHT about something for a change!"  'Bout time.

I still love his character though - it is all Terry O'Quinn's doing! He is just rocking the role!
