Jabone
« on: April 21, 2010, 01:12:17 PM »
A few episodes ago Miles referred to Nikki and Paulo as jabones. Last night he referred to Sayid as a jabone.  This is basically an Italian slang word for asshole.  Does anyone else think it's weird that Miles is using this term?  I think the term is predominantly used in the Chicago area these days.

pronounced "juh-boney"

Zeek, stop looking for mysteries this close to the end. LOL. Seriously, this was just a weird choice by the writers.

Yeah that's where I remember it from. The Rock used to throw it around all the time.

I thought that was more of an Iron Sheik term.

jabroni, a phrase that was popularized by Iron Sheik in the 80s and used later by The Rock.

Jobroni (n, slang) 1. Slang for jobber [dfn.] 2. Used to refer to wrestler with a push [dfn.] who has done several jobs [dfn.] lately. 3. A general derogatory term for someone, akin to calling someone a "loser."

I retract. I knew The Rock used it. I was unaware the Iron Sheik used it first. I humbly apologize.
