Alice in Wonderland: Jack's son, David, is reading an annotated version of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. Jack also finds a key to his ex-wife's house hidden under a rabbit statue.

Someone originated this idea of mirrors being very important to Jack this season back when we were conjecturing about the meaning of the cut on his neck (BostonLost, was that you?) and as soon as I saw the opening shot of Jack looking in the pond, I thought of that and how RIGHT that was!!!

- Jack looking at his own reflection in the pond in front of the temple at the beginning of the episode
- His son's Alice book
- Key under the rabbit statue (re: Alice in Wonderland)
- his reflection in the Lighthouse mirror
- Another glance at the mirror at his "appendix" scar

... there was another one -- I'm forgetting ...

Jack said to David that he used to love hearing about "Kitty & Snowdrop."  They were Alice's 2 cats- one white & one black- who correspond to the Red & White Queens.

Jack looks into David's mirror and sees the pics of him and David.

And don't forget the episode titles:WHITE RABBIT and THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS.

I'm trying to remember where I read this (was it on here?) about the mirrors.  Every sideways flash so far has had the main character looking into a mirror.  Jack in the plane from LAX, Kate looks into the mirror at the body shop when she peeks through Claire's bag, Locke looks into the mirror in the bathroom before Helen comes in, and now Jack again to find his appendix scar and in the pond.  Lots of reflections going on.  I thought this was a really neat article about how lost looks a lot like carroll's book. (and backgammon!)

And weirdly enough, a lighthouse is a beacon... the DI's beacon station was called The Looking-Glass... which is what we find in Jacob's beacon. Coincidence? lol...
