DESMOND'S WEDDING RING
« on: February 04, 2010, 11:18:28 AM »
Hello fellow LOSTIES, its great to be back!
Did anyone see Desmond's wedding ring? He is married, to who we don't know yet.
I don't think we can assume its Penny. It might be his girl friend he was engaged to be for he met Brotha Cample. He may even be married to Libby!
Any thoughts?
Later DUDE!

Very clear in the scene. That's why I assumed he did the boat racing, he is married with Penelope, that was actually born and still have a father, Charles.

Cool I totally missed that. Think his child is still named Charlie?

Well... if you want to believe that it's Desmond from the island timeline and he used his powers to appear there for a reason, then it would be the same Desmond who is already married to Penny and has a kid named Charlie.  I highly doubt it was just a random Desmond cameo where he really was just changing his seat a lot on the flight.  I think he literally appeared and disappeared or he was in Jack's head and really wasn't on the plane at all since it's suspicious that Rose didn't see him.

That is curious. Off topic here but Rose looked very happy. I wonder if she still has cancer or not.

Yeah I saw the interview with the "Coincidence or not" stuff. Is that what you mean?

Fantastic!! Good eyes!!  :o

I'm not so sure that it's Penny either, now that you mention it.

My guess is the girl that Desmond left for the monastery. Would make sense because the head priest was in league with Miss Hawking, and if there is no island (in that timeline) then he has no reason to have Desmond in the monastery at all.

I'm going to say that he went on the boat race but didn't crash and then married Penny, but that's more or less just what I'm rooting for.

That might be a possibility, but like someone else said in here somewhere, there might not have even been a reason to have the boat race. Hell, Widmore might even be dead, and Penny not even exist. It is an alternate timeline.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Jack was the only one who was able to see Desmond on the plane.  It just seemed a little strange to me that they pointed out that Jack was told be the flight attendant that that particular row of seats was empty.  And when Desmond left, Jack asked around if anyone saw where he went and they said they didn't see anybody there.  I'm sure that those two events were put there for a reason.
