The last serving of LOST featured the season premiere of Smokey, to fans' delight. And he did not disappoint! A restless Cerberus dragged a doomed Frenchman to an ancient temple, and there the poor man's arm lost it's body. The temple reveal was another long awaited bone-toss to faithful viewers. We also got confirmation that Mrs. Hawking is Dan's mom, and that Dan visits Charlotte on the island in the past. It was an episode that actually confirmed and answered more questions than it raised. So, how did it do in the segment ratings? Follow the link below to find out!
This week's episode was right back up to speed with lots of on-island action and excitement. We got to see some back story, a heart break, a couple of killings and a little bit of Locke's fibula. Off-island we stood around, drove for a while, and then stood around some more.
Speaking of off-island, we pick up at the marina, almost where we left off last time. Sun is still watching Kate yelling at Jack and Ben when her phone rings. It's her mom and her adorable little daughter calling from Korea. She tells the little girl that she met a playmate for her named Aaron. Ji Yeon just wants her mommy to come home. Sun chokes up when she tells her she'll be there soon. She hangs up before she remembers to have her mother forward her a more recent photo of Ji Yeon. She gets out of the car and, because of the yelling, is able to sneak up on the group. Before anyone else can react she cocks her gun and points it at Ben. Jack tries to calm her down but she is still incredibly angry and believes Ben was responsible for Jin's death. Ben calmly explains that that's not true since Jin is alive and Ben can prove it.
There is a quick scene in 5x05, "This Place is Death" that features Montan listening to a transmission of The Numbers on a radio. They make a plan to head to the radio tower to see if they can make use of the antenna to call for help. Those with sharp ears, however, recognized something familiar in the voice repeating 4 8 15 16 23 42 on the radio. Could it really be Hurley? Take a listen by clicking the Continue Reading Link below and let us know what you think in the comments section! Given Hurley's history with the numbers, and the incorporation of time travel into the fabric of LOST, it does make a certain sense. We've seen several times already, that events in the past happened because things were done involving time travel in the future that we previously weren't aware of. Could so much of what has now transpired on the island been due to Hurley himself broadcasting the numbers? Or, are people just hearing something that isn't there?
Smokey made his first full-fledged appearance in season 5 tonight, showing himself to Rousseau's team. First, poor Nadine disappears, and then when they look for her Smokey blows up some trees (ahh, just like old times) and grabs Montan. But what's more important is that we learn that Montan lost his arm while getting pulled down into a smokey hole. We also learn that what Danielle called the sickness was in regard to Smokey, and whatever he did to the rest of the team that went into the tunnel to rescue Montan. Anyone think Dr. Chang lost his arm in a similar accident?

This Place is DEATH! Kind of a catchy title, no? The island has certainly been a place of death for many of its tourists, but is that what the title is referring to? Could it be a reference to the sickness that infects Danielle's crew, forcing her to kill them all (including her beloved Robert)? Find out tonight, in Season 5's fifith episode!
