5x13_chalkboard.jpgDear Damon and Carlton. Okay guys, we get it. Thanks so much for making it clear, but I think even the non-believers now see that there is obviously a tie-in with the island and the Egyptians. Thanks, we appreciate the clarity.

We've all seen now that Egyptian influences played a fairly larger role in the history of the island. With tonight's episode we also saw the first glimpse that Dharma may have caught on to those historical influences as well, and appear to be studying the history and culture of the Egyptians as well. And as we all know, Dharma will later incorporate Egyptian hieroglyphics into the Clock of Doom in the Swan Station, though for what reasons we don't know.

5x13_swan_2.jpgHurley and Miles were treated to a nice little surprise tonight when they got to see the Swan station being built. We also learned that the grid it was being built in is in the hostile's area and they are building it, somehow, in secret (or at least they seem to think that they are). Hurley was also a little freaked out as he watched the workers stamp his anti-lucky numbers into the hatch door as a serial number (why exactly the hatch door needs a serial number is beyond me).

5x09_swan_model.jpgIn tonight's episode we got to see a model of the Swan Station at the Flame, where future hatchmate Radzinsky was manning the controls. This brings a great deal into question, like why Radzinsky felt the need to create the blast door map in the first place, if he had prior knowledge of all of the other stations, and seems to have held a fairly high post within the Dharma Initiative. In addition, he seems to have created the Swan model, and it appears similar to the one we saw in the original Swan Orientation film. So what do you think about Radzinsky's Blast Door Map now?

5x05_temple_02.jpgWe also got our first look at the mysterious Temple we've heard so much about in tonight's episode. We learn that the temple (which is where Montaun lost his arm) has similar looking Glyphs on the side of it as what was used on the countdown timer in the Swan Station (the hatch). This seems a little odd when you consider that the Temple is supposedly an ancient building that predates the Dharma Initiative, and the Swan Station was built in the 70s/80s. It is also possible speculation at this point that the Temple may be Smokey's home. I base this mostly on the connection with Ben, who seemed to be able to call Smokey to the slaughter last season, and also is the one who sent his people to the Temple for safety. Ben has referred to the Temple as "the last safe place on the island."

3x11: Swan MerlotIn 3x11, "Enter 77", we finally get a look at the long known about, but yet to be seen Flame Station. The station is manned by Mikhail Bakunin and Ms. Klugh. However, it appears that the only place to get some good Merlot on the island is at the Swan Station. While other items in the Flame are labeled with a generic logo, or the Flame logo, the wine comes from the sink hole formerly known as the Swan Station. What is curious about all of this, is the question of what exactly were Kelvin, Radzinsky and Desmond doing in the Swan Station. Kelvin claimed to be part of the Dharma Initiative, and if true, why did he survive "The Purge". Was Kelvin really the last surviving member of the Dharma Initiative, one of the Hostiles, or something else?

Season 2 DVD Bonus Features: Geronimo JacksonOn the Season 2 DVDs, there is an Easter egg that can be seen when you register the DVD and keep pressing the "Left" button until a black vinyl album pops out. If you then press "Enter", you'll see a close-up of the Geronimo Jackson album, "Magna Carta", which previously was difficult to view from the show. Pressing "5" will run a short clip of the show's producer's discussing the history of the mythical band.

2x23: Complete HieroglyphsIn "Live Together, Die Alone", we get to see the complete hieroglyphics on the count down timer. All three times the counter has run down (once for Desmond, once for Locke, and once in the finale), the same glyphs have come up. As previously speculated, the missing symbol is the spiral glyph. Together, these glyphs spell out a word with the causative meaning of DEATH.

2x21: Mark Wickmund (AKA Marvin Candle)In episode "?", Eko and Locke find an orientation video for Station 5, "The Pearl". The presenter for this video, is Mark Wickmund (a play on Candle?), who we previously know from "The Swan" Orientation film as Marvin Candle. Apparently, Candle/Wickmund is a man of many names (all related to illumination).
