5x12_smokey_toilet.jpgTonight we learned that all Ben had to do in order to summon the Smoke Monster was unclog the crapper. Once it's unstopped, ticked off Smokey comes a running. In addition we have images of Alex, Desmond getting shot by Ben, Ben bleeding under water, and the temple again. Follow the jump for images.

5x12_smokey_lair_1.jpgWhen Ben first enters Smokey's Lair, or the Temple catacombs, there are lots and lots of hieroglyphics and other Egyptian looking statues and such in the room. Follow the jump for a series of images of what Ben saw.

manhattan-locke-dead-is-dead.jpgEvery so often, LOST hits us with a mind-blowing episode that reminds us why we love this show so much. Expectations are running high that tonight's offering, "Dead is Dead", will be that kind of episode. After all, last week teased us with a trip back to the future where a resurrected Locke finally had the chance to confront his killer, Ben Linus. Tonight, it looks like we'll see more of this confrontation as well as some of Ben's off-island goings on. Will we learn more about Ben and his relationship with the island and it's mysterious powers? What is Locke's destiny, now that he has conquered death and returned to the island? Will we finally see Richard Alpert traversing the island atop smokey, "yee-hawing" all the while, to judge Ben's transgressions (and then have Smokey eat him)? Tune in tonight for the Ben-Locke showdown! More details after the jump!

5x09_smokey_door.jpgOkay, so we hate to make it seem like anytime there's a small amount of smoke in an episode of Lost that it means that Smokey was there, but rewatching the scene where Christian opens the door in Othersville, there is obviously quite a bit of what looks like smoke behind him. Then, as they enter the house, the door opens to a strange squeaking sound and the smoke swirls through the rooom. So is this Smokey, and proof that somehow Smokey is involved in the Christian sightings? Or is this mearly a smoky room and the wind is blowing through the door, making it swirl? I, for one, think that its Smokey.

5x05_temple_02.jpgWe also got our first look at the mysterious Temple we've heard so much about in tonight's episode. We learn that the temple (which is where Montaun lost his arm) has similar looking Glyphs on the side of it as what was used on the countdown timer in the Swan Station (the hatch). This seems a little odd when you consider that the Temple is supposedly an ancient building that predates the Dharma Initiative, and the Swan Station was built in the 70s/80s. It is also possible speculation at this point that the Temple may be Smokey's home. I base this mostly on the connection with Ben, who seemed to be able to call Smokey to the slaughter last season, and also is the one who sent his people to the Temple for safety. Ben has referred to the Temple as "the last safe place on the island."

5x05_smokey_01.jpgSmokey made his first full-fledged appearance in season 5 tonight, showing himself to Rousseau's team. First, poor Nadine disappears, and then when they look for her Smokey blows up some trees (ahh, just like old times) and grabs Montan. But what's more important is that we learn that Montan lost his arm while getting pulled down into a smokey hole. We also learn that what Danielle called the sickness was in regard to Smokey, and whatever he did to the rest of the team that went into the tunnel to rescue Montan. Anyone think Dr. Chang lost his arm in a similar accident?

smokeyTrain.jpg In 4x09, we learned Ben has the ability to summon the great Smoke monster from a cave connected to his secret hideout room. As smokey comes rumbling in like a freight train, we see several "flashes" on its "body". I can't discern anything definite in these flashes - unlike those we saw with Eko's encounter. There are also several flashes in the forest during Smokey's attack, but too little detail to be reavealing.

caveGlyphs_01.jpg In 4x09, "The Shape of Things to Come", Ben plays a gamble with the life of his "daughter", Alex, and loses. Shocked (that the "rules" have changed), Ben hurries into his secret room, and then opens another secret door revealing some kind of ancient cave complete with hieroglyph like drawings (remember the hatch timer?). Moments later, the Smokey Train arrives to wipe out the bad guys. It looks like Ben has some ability to control smokey, who might be native to the island? We still don't know exactly what smokey is though. WHAT IS SMOKEY!? Follow the link to get a better view.
