What's Hot: Season 6 Start Date Announced
In one of the best scenes of the night Dr. Chang busts in on Miles, Jin, and Hurley getting ready to flee dharmaville. Chang wants to know if they're really from the future, and Hurley awkwardly denies it. Chang knows just the question to ask too, first asking when Hurley was born, and finally asking him who was the president. You can see Hurley struggling for just a moment before he spills the beans. What's even more funny is that when they arrived at Dharmaville, Hurley asked Sawyer what he should do if they ask him questions, like who the president is. And Sawyer just responded wtih this isn't a gameshow. See! If Sawyer had just told him who the president was, Hurley could have pulled it off!
Whether or not we're ready, Lost is ending: four episodes to go this season and the final seventeen chapters next season. All of the players are in place. Mainland life has been soundly rejected and life on the island is all that matters.
Hurley and Miles were treated to a nice little surprise tonight when they got to see the Swan station being built. We also learned that the grid it was being built in is in the hostile's area and they are building it, somehow, in secret (or at least they seem to think that they are). Hurley was also a little freaked out as he watched the workers stamp his anti-lucky numbers into the hatch door as a serial number (why exactly the hatch door needs a serial number is beyond me).
Smokey made his first full-fledged appearance in season 5 tonight, showing himself to Rousseau's team. First, poor Nadine disappears, and then when they look for her Smokey blows up some trees (ahh, just like old times) and grabs Montan. But what's more important is that we learn that Montan lost his arm while getting pulled down into a smokey hole. We also learn that what Danielle called the sickness was in regard to Smokey, and whatever he did to the rest of the team that went into the tunnel to rescue Montan. Anyone think Dr. Chang lost his arm in a similar accident?

Today we have a special treat for our readers. One of our best theorist at SWLS, MangoBingo. He has written his thoughts on time travel. Enjoy his article and please leave us your comments and thoughts. We encourage any SWLS member to submit an article to any mod for publication. Enjoy!
With the advent of Season Five, the hottest topic of discussion amongst Lost fans hasn't been the usual dissection of Easter Eggs, hidden meanings, character connections or even "When will we see Smokey?"... It's time travel.
"Because You Left" blew away any doubt that time travel is going to play a big part during season 5.The Losties plus Julite (she will be included in the Losties for this article) are skipping through time due to Ben turning the frozen donkey wheel (or is it because the Oceanic 6 left?). I have been against the idea of time travel throughout the series. Even with the "Constant", I was satisfied that it was just Desmond's conscience traveling through time. The Losties are time traveling and I have come to accept this plot line. I am at least satisfied that it appears to be a linear form of time travel, not parallel universes.
Tonight, we got to see Pierre Chang venture into the Orchid, back during the Dharma heyday when the Orchid was still being constructed. It seems an accident happened when they hit the chamber where the frozen donkey wheel resides. The images after the jump are the sonar imaging of that chamber and the donkey-wheel. There appear to be lots of numbers on the paper, but they are meaningless and random as far as I can tell. IF you see something we don't, let us know!
Season 5 started with another Desmond in the hatch type of scene. Groovy music, old 70's stuff, and PIerre Chang, aka Marvin Candle getting out of bed and going about his day (okay, so that last part wasn't in the season 3 opener, technically). He goes into a room where a baby, we assume his baby, is smiling in the crib.
So why is this important or relevant you may ask? Because it makes one wonder if Baby Chang was born on the island. Was this prior to when the island had an issue with pregnancy?
I was originally going to title this article, "The Many Faces Of Marvin Candle..uh, I mean Mark Wickmund, crap, I mean Edgar Halliwax, or is it Pierre Chang. Oh hell, you get the idea" but that seemed like an awefully long title for such a short article. I think you all get the idea. Actor Francois Chau (that's his real life name!) has had the unique fortune of being the only character in the entire show 4 names (to date).
Thanks to a new video released this past summer at Comic con, it seems that we've finally discovered that our favorite Dharma scientists real name is Pierre Chang. I saw what's being called The Barracks video for the first time yesterday, and found it astounding. I'd heard about it last summer, of course, but in my lazy, Lost hiatus mood chose not to watch it at the time. But it got me wondering who else hadn't seen it yet. And for that matter, who else out there has forgotten about the other fantastic videos we've seen from this Dharma Scientist. So follow the jump and refresh yourself on the many faces of....oh hell, you know who I mean.
