3x20: Jacob's DogIn "3x20", "The Man Behind the Curtain", Ben takes Locke to visit Jacob. It turns out Jacob is an invisible man living in a run down shack in the middle of the jungle. The interior of the shack is very cluttered, but there is an interesting painting hanging on the wall that Locke takes notice of. It's a dog. Personally, I don't know what type of dog it is, but it is odd looking. If anyone knows the breed, let us know in the comments below.

3x13: Who's in Ben's HouseThe prominent portrait in Ben's house is causing a lot of debate. Is it a picture of Juliette, Karen De Groot or someone else? There is speculation it could be who Alex believes is her mother. We know that Juliette and Ben had "history". Karen De Groot would open many possibilities. Are they relatives? Is it in honor of the one of the founders of the movement? Thanks to Nancy Drew for discovering the similarities between the portrait and Karen De Groot.

3x13: Hamster (Mouse?) PowerThank to DocArzt at TheTailSection for alerting me to this. LOST is a show full of many, many mysteries. A second shot of the painting in Ben's place shows a better view of what the mystery woman (Juliet? Karen DeGroot? Ben's Mom? Alex's adopted mom?) is holding in her lap. It's ... a small hamster, or mouse, like creature. Perhaps Ben wasn't lying after all when he told Locke that Othersville was powered by hamsters! Many of you have pointed out that the creature may actually be a reference to the male mouse that Juliet was able to impregnate. This accomplishment was the reason she was approached by The Others and brought to the island. So, this may very well be evidence that the portrait is indeed of Juliet.

3x13: The Art of OthersvilleIn 3x13, "The Man from Tallahassee", we get a good look inside some of the houses in Othersville. The living quarters seem to be well decorated with what appears to be paintings of the island. In addition, in Ben's place, there is an abundance of "primitive" wood carved art. Could this be a link to the four toed statue? As Patchy pointed out, The Others have been on the island for a very long time. Given the statue, and these wood carvings, is it possible that The Others are linked to an ancient civilization that inhabited the island? Or, perhaps Ben just collects these pieces when he visits the outside world.

In addition, there are a number of other unique pieces in Ben's place. Several pictures of a younger Alex. A picture of some woman sitting in a chair in the jungle holding something in her hands. A map of constellations (I think). A picture of a thatched roof hut. And some kind of drawing.

It all looks like very bad feng-shui to me.

3x08 08: Thomas' PaintingIn "Flashes Before Your Eyes", Desmond visits Charles Widmore at Widmore Industries in London. In the office hang two paintings. One depicts a polar bear, Buddha, and the word "Namaste". The other painting was seen in the first season of Lost, in episode 1x10, "Raised by Another". In that episode, we meet Claire's boyfriend, Thomas, who she believes to be the father of her child. Thomas is an artist, and we see several of his paintings in Claire's flashbacks. One of the painting in "Raised by Another" is identical to the painting seen hanging in Widmore's office in "Flashes Before Your Eyes". The strange thing? "Flashes Before Your Eyes" takes place BEFORE "Raised by Another". Is this merely a prop error, or is something else in play?

3x08 07: Painting in Des's PlaceThis egg is being posted due to several reader requests. Several SWLS users have noted a slight similarity between the "mountain" shapes in the painting that hangs in Desmond's flat, and the painting in Charles Widmore's office. The similarity is not strong enough to make any solid conclusions. Others believe the paintings bear resemblance to the hatch painting, and the paintings by Claire's boyfriend, Thomas. Currently, these connections seem speculative at best.

3x08 04: Namaste PaintingThe painting in Charles Widmore's office in "Flashes Before Your Eyes" contains the word "Namaste". Namaste is the eastern phrase that seems to be the standard Dharma "goodbye". Marvin Candle signs off with "Namaste" on the Orientation videos, and the phrase has been seen in the ARG "The Lost Experience". In addition to "Namaste", the painting contains a polar bear and a Buddha - both of which are recurring themes in Lost.

At first look, it appears "Namaste" is painted backwards on the painting. However, further study reveals that the shot was flipped in post production. In wider shots, the painting can be seen on Desmond's left, with the word "Namaste" written correctly.
