What's Hot: Season 6 Start Date Announced
There is a quick scene in 5x05, "This Place is Death" that features Montan listening to a transmission of The Numbers on a radio. They make a plan to head to the radio tower to see if they can make use of the antenna to call for help. Those with sharp ears, however, recognized something familiar in the voice repeating 4 8 15 16 23 42 on the radio. Could it really be Hurley? Take a listen by clicking the Continue Reading Link below and let us know what you think in the comments section! Given Hurley's history with the numbers, and the incorporation of time travel into the fabric of LOST, it does make a certain sense. We've seen several times already, that events in the past happened because things were done involving time travel in the future that we previously weren't aware of. Could so much of what has now transpired on the island been due to Hurley himself broadcasting the numbers? Or, are people just hearing something that isn't there?

3x12, "Par Avion", opens on a crash scene. Claire had been in an argument with her mom when they collided with a truck. The collision ejects Claire's mother from the vehicle, leaving her with severe brain damage.
As Claire awakes in the car, seconds after impact, there is a quick shot of the dashboard gauges. Fittingly, the mileage that is visible in the shot reads "108". Of course, 108 is the sum of "The Numbers", 4 8 15 16 23 42. It is also the number of minutes the countdown clock resets to when the button is pushed.
"108" and "The Numbers" appear frequently in flashbacks. While some importance has been attributed to the numbers, usually these just seem to be the writers having a little fun by hiding the numbers in the show for us to find.
Eddie's file has the numbers for his Employee ID, and shows a date of 1995 near the bottom, possibly dating the flashbacks. Note appearance of the Numbers in his employee number.
In the final moments of "Live Together, Die Alone", we learn there are a couple of guys in some sort of monitoring station in very cold environment. A blinking light on a computer interrupts their chess game. The screen indicates that an electromagnetic anomaly has been detected. They immediately look up the reference code, and call Penny Widmore. They tell her that they've found it. It appears that Penny is perhaps looking for Desmond and the island. Though, we have to wait until next season to find out what exactly is going on.
monitor, the number is 7418880 (which is the product of 4*8*15*16*23*42).
Eko is living as a fake priest in Australia. An Australian man visits and gives him the forged passport he needs to travel to America. The passport has an issue date of April 16, 2004. It expires April 15, 2014. Eko's birth date is listed as August 23, 1968. This is a usage of some of THE NUMBERS:
4 = April and 2004
8 = August 23
15 = April 15
16 = April 16
23 = August 23
There was another nice NUMBERS easter egg in "Two for the Road". There is a wide establishing shot of a bunch of police cars parked at the police station as Ana rolls in. The shot was a little longer than it needed to be, just so we noticed that the numbers on the police cars correspond with THE NUMBERS.
