042109laklost.jpgWhether or not we're ready, Lost is ending: four episodes to go this season and the final seventeen chapters next season. All of the players are in place. Mainland life has been soundly rejected and life on the island is all that matters.

Thumbnail image for 031609.james.jpgEpisode 5.8 "LaFleur" marked the half way point of season 5. It was followed by a week off of new shows and it appears that most of the SWLS mods (including me) took some extra time off. But we are starting to wind it back up for the second half of the season. "LaFleur" was considered an average episode by Lost standards. An average rating of 7.89 is low for this season. The episode was enjoyed but not loved by the SWLS members. Episode 5x06 "316" set a new ratings record with an incredible 9.35 average. SWLS members absolutely loved this episode. 73% of all votes were a perfect 10. 92% of all votes were for scores of 8 or higher. There was a vote one vote each for a rating of 6 or 7. Neither voter posted a reason for those ratings. Viewers want the main characters of Lost to be together and we now have the Oceanic 6 (minus Aaron) back on the island with Sawyer, Jin, Juliet and friends. Watching the Oceanic 6 converge on the same flight with Ben and Frank Lapidus was true television magic. Please go to the next page to see the SWLS users' comments on this outstanding episode.

Following the continue reading link below is a selection of interesting images from 5x02, "The Lie". These include a second look at Ana Lucia, who returned in a cameo ghost / illusion / island manifestation appearance to Hurley; the gunman who intercepts Sawyer and Juliet in the jungle - possibly AstroJones; Aaron's coloring book; Expose; and a flaming frogurt.

I am pretty certain that I have made mention of the fact a number of times that I love this show. I buy into it hook, line and sinker. I don't think I've ever rated an episode any lower than a 6 or 7, and this episode is no different. I've been poking around the internets looking at reviews and of course reading the opinions and thoughts of our esteemed users here at Sledgeweb, and from what I can tell, the viewers of "The Other Woman" give it a resounding "meh."  The majority of us were not blown away by this particular installment. I enjoyed it; it was an episode of Lost, after all. It wasn't my least favorite episode of the season, but it wasn't my favorite either. More of my thoughts on this episode after the jump.

4x06_segmentRatings.jpg Sledgeweb's Lost Stuff users who participated in the Segment Ratings this week in the Live Group Watch showed their overwhelming dislike of "The Other Woman," giving it the lowest overall segment ratings of any episode this season. Members have also given "The Other Woman" an overall averages rating of 6.82%. This shows a sharp decline from last week's overall average of 8.61, and falls even below "Eggtown's" low 7.06. 20080306a.jpgLast week we were thrilled and wowed, watching Desmond flip-flop back and forth through time, from 1996 to 2004. The implications of what we saw and what said in that episode will probably keep some of us up at nights for many weeks to come, while others of us will just try to pretend it doesn't mean some of the things that we think it means. But all in all, episode 4x05, The Constant, was solid, fun episode. The episode received the highest segment ratings of the season so far, in our new Live Group Watch segment rating area. Even our weekly poll showed this episode as the most popular of the season, thus far.

Tonight's episode focuses on our favorite OTHER turned good, Juliet. Follow the jump for more information, as well as a preview clip of tonight's episode.

3x16: Tree MarkIn LOST 3x16, "One of Us", Juliet picks up a stash of medicine in a ruse to gain the trust of the 815ers. A case is stashed at Ethan's old drop point once an implant in Claire triggers some kind of sickness. The drop point is designated by a tree marked with a symbol. It does not appear to be the same mark on Juliet, but within the same family perhaps. This symbol is very similar to this one.

3x16: Not Just MiceIn LOST 3x16, "One of Us", Juliet is convinced to stay on the island by Ben after she is told that her sister's cancer has returned. Ben promises that she will be healed if Juliet will stay on the island and help them find a solution to their fertility problem. As proof of Rachel's condition, Ben hands Juliet a medical report. I think I know what the problem is... Rachel isn't a woman with cancer, according to the report, she is a 187 lb MALE with heart problems! How smart is Juliet now?! I guess we can check this one off as another gaff by the props department. Pretty big slip considering how long the camera rests on that report. They do know this is LOST, right? Where we scrutinize and theorize over every little detail?

3x13: Who's in Ben's HouseThe prominent portrait in Ben's house is causing a lot of debate. Is it a picture of Juliette, Karen De Groot or someone else? There is speculation it could be who Alex believes is her mother. We know that Juliette and Ben had "history". Karen De Groot would open many possibilities. Are they relatives? Is it in honor of the one of the founders of the movement? Thanks to Nancy Drew for discovering the similarities between the portrait and Karen De Groot.

3x09: Juliet's MarkIn 3x9, "Stranger in a Strange Land", Juliet is facing execution for killing fellow Other, Danny Pickett. The execution is waived when Jack makes another deal with Ben Linus. Jack agrees to treat the infection Ben is suffering from, and nurse him back to health. In exchange, Ben must intercede on Juliet's behalf and stop the execution. In place of the execution, Ben orders Juliet to be "marked". A symbol is burned into her lower back. This is the first time we have seen this symbol in Lost. It is unclear at this point what purpose the mark serves, other than it would appear to make her somewhat of an outsider amongst the group.

3x07: Zen! Ying-Yang SymbolIn "Not in Portland", there is a yin-yang symbol on the lamp in Juliet's sister's room. Many initially thought this was a Dharma logo, but yin-yangs and eastern philosophy are certainly recurring themes throughout LOST. The book next to the lamp is "Carrie" by Stephen King, which is an interesting find. Years later, when Juliet is on the island and embedded with The Others, she leads a book club which is studying her favorite book: "Carrie".

3x07: Juliet's DrugsNot too much of interest, some sample drugs labeled by Week and Batch. Put up on request. A few drops of this stuff, and a male rat becomes a mommy.
