What's Hot: 6x05: User Requested Images
In LOST 6x03, The Substitute, unLocke (Esau, The Man in Black, Smoke Monster, etc.) takes Sawyer to a beach front cave and reveals a list of names scribbled on the ceiling by Jacob. Many names are crossed out, and all are accompanied by a number. The names of six known Oceanic 815 survivors correspond to the six numbers (4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42). Images and a breakdown of names after the jump.

The known survivors and corresponding numbers are:
4: Locke
8: Reyes
15: Ford
16: Jarrah
23: Shephard
42: Kwon
Also easily legible are the following (amongst many more names not yet deciphered).
10: Mattingley
222: O'Toole
233: Jones
291: Domingo
These are supposedly candidates to take Jacob's place as island protector. What do you think of the names on the list, and those missing?

i am wondering if the guy that hugo got the numbers from in the mental institute was a previous jacob? all those numbers are the same as hugos lotto numbers.
Wonder if the order of the numbers mean anything... like who is #1?? and if it is Jacob's list... I hadn't thought about that angle.
I don't think this is Jacob's list. I think it's un-Locke's and he's lying. Could it be that it wasn't really Jacob in the shed locked up but instead the human form of this guy?
There isn't a screencap of it, but it looks as though, above "Shephard", there's a name that starts Rou... Rousseau?
I think the last shot of the series will show a lonely Jack......
What else did you think, RM? Did you think the island would sink? Did you think they would show two parallel timelines?

In the close-up of 15-Ford, it looks more like Lewis than Linus.
No Kate, I found that so strange since Jacob went to her as well in the last season. I really don't think this is Jacob's list- I think this is MIB's cave and it's his way of narrowing down the people he thinks Jacob will use. For what, I have no idea. But I don't believe MIB and his story about Jacob trying to find someone to take over protecting the island.
I always thought the numbers would match up with people!!! Glad to see it confirmed.
Well, this certainly is not the "list" I was expecting. Seems like a weird way to file this kind of info. But then again, no better way to ensure it will last I guess.
It might be Faraday in the first Jarrah photo bottom left hand corner. Have to see that enlarged more.

Does it look like 195 Pace below Mattingley?
Kate's name seems to be missing.
That sure is a lot of candidates. No one has worked out yet.
I think I see Straume in the 2nd photo...
In the close-up with "15-Ford" it looks like "313-Littleton" is on the bottom right.
Also, and it's a stretch, but it looks like it might also say "Linus" in the bottom left.
I see Goodspeed in the third photo down just above "Reyes".
did i see Faraday on the wall?
