5x15: Chang busts Hurley

In one of the best scenes of the night Dr. Chang busts in on Miles, Jin, and Hurley getting ready to flee dharmaville. Chang wants to know if they're really from the future, and Hurley awkwardly denies it. Chang knows just the question to ask too, first asking when Hurley was born, and finally asking him who was the president. You can see Hurley struggling for just a moment before he spills the beans. What's even more funny is that when they arrived at Dharmaville, Hurley asked Sawyer what he should do if they ask him questions, like who the president is. And Sawyer just responded wtih this isn't a gameshow. See! If Sawyer had just told him who the president was, Hurley could have pulled it off!

Hurley is awesome. Loved this exchange as much as the one between Hurley and Miles a couple of weeks ago. Chang knew exactly which one to expose. He absolutely schooled Hurley.

But a few scenes later Miles sees his father throw his mom and his baby self off the island in order to save them, and realizes he had his father pegged wrong all these years. The show goes from hilarious to touching so easily.

I thought for sure Chang shoulda given Miles a hug. I was half way expecting them too. It was pretty funny how, when Chang asks him about the Korean War, the camera goes to Jin. Nice touch. The way Chang schooled Hurley was so funny! My wife and I were laughing! Good times, good times.

I wonder what changed Chang's mind about what Daniel told him? Any ideas? Did I miss something?

This was one of the best Lost scenes ever. I loved how Chang was so deadpan about it... kinda like "Don't waste my time by trying to circumvent my clearly superior intellect -- I know you're from the future!" And how it was almost proving the opposite of what they've always had to prove before... "No, really! We DID time-travel! The island DID move! I swear!" ha-ha.

Funny thing is Sawyer probably didn't even know who the President was at the time. Well there was an election the year before... he just may have.
