What's Hot: First New Image of Season 6
Okay, so we hate to make it seem like anytime there's a small amount of smoke in an episode of Lost that it means that Smokey was there, but rewatching the scene where Christian opens the door in Othersville, there is obviously quite a bit of what looks like smoke behind him. Then, as they enter the house, the door opens to a strange squeaking sound and the smoke swirls through the rooom. So is this Smokey, and proof that somehow Smokey is involved in the Christian sightings? Or is this mearly a smoky room and the wind is blowing through the door, making it swirl? I, for one, think that its Smokey.

i think it's jacob. and, i don't think jacob is smokey. the scene so had the look and feel of jacob's cabin episodes.
I think that there was enough emphasis on that door opening by itself for it to be smokey. It happened right before we catch a glimpse of the woman behind Sun. I know that one theory says that maybe smokey is the cause of the apparitions of "dead people" but either way I think that the door opened to let the woman in.
i think its smoke... but not smokey... just the spirit of claire entering hahahahaha *i'm scared*
Sun has work to do in the present, I suppose.
I agree with the thought that they are in present time, which would logically make Dharmaville look like it did in this episode, having had that little battle scene with Widmore's crazy-men just 3 years before (perhaps no one bothered to touch things there after that). What's is trippy to me is why all the others got yanked out of the plane and put in 1977 while Sun did not?!
I think its weird that Sun and Frank weren't like what the heck the door just opened, wouldn't you be a bit scared too???
LOL, I meant maybe!
May Smokie is Jacob? Christian seems to always be around for him???
Maybe smokey was leading Sun and Frank to dharmaville. I don't know if we've tied down smokey to Christian or the other manifestations just yet but it is a nice theory. But we do know that the whispers happen before their appearances, just like in this episode.
When Ben unleashed Smokey on the commandos.
have they ever been in the same scene?
ben is smokey
I need to rewatch, but I could have sworn that during this you can hear some of Smokey's signature sounds (the series of clicking noises - not like the winch sound but the more animal like sounds).
Well, let's not forget that this is happening after the commandos have fought into Otherville. This may account for the damage seen.
I'm split down the middle on it being Smokey - on the one hand, the dock sighting obviously implied something. On the other, this looks like a shadowy palm frond waving in the wind.
I'm also very hesitant to cry "SMOKEY!!" whenever we see something dark and shadowy (Matthew Abaddon's shadow when he went to see Hurley in the mental institute for example), but if this wasn't smokey, then TPTB are purposely doing this to mess with us. At first it kind of looked like some dust in the wind, but after I viewed it again, it deffinitely looked like there was more of a black coloring to it, and it seemed to move with a purpose. So yeah, deffinitely had to be Smokey.
That first image totally looks like Smokey slithering out the door, but in the second pic, it just looks like light shining through dust to me.
Smokey was definitely around...and Frank and Sun saw it (or is it him/her?).
Definitely Smokey or Son of Smokey hanging outside that door.

Great idea!
I think that Sawyer and Juliet have changed things, no matter what Dan said. We know that Des saw Charlie dying in different ways, but he kept helping him until one certain thing happened. "Course Corrections".
Whenever they fix the screw up, things will course correct themselves and we'll end up with a happy reunion in 2007. Just like Des did when he ended up back in the Swan.
I think Dharmaville is out of time. So it isn't in 2007 anymore thus the dharma stuff around and all the welcome photos on the wall. Christian also talks about the journey they have to take to get back to 1977.
the New Otherton that Frank and Sun saw reminded me of a post incident post war otherton... liek a terminator vision of the destruction to come... kinda like the ghost of christmas future ish...
Well, given that Frank and Sun saw & heard smokey just before they entered Dharmaville/Othersville, I think it's pretty safe to say smokey was not far away. Surely everyone heard the tell-tale "chain" sound as they were walking down the dock and saw... "something"?
Personally, as soon as they saw & heard that, I was thinking Sun was more than a bit foolish not to beat a hasty retreat. But I guess the plot must go on, and so... we meet Christian again.
Another thing I found odd, though was: the state of Dharmaville, it looked as if the Others had never taken it over and lived there. There were still all the Dharma photos up, all the Dharma signs hanging everywhere and on all the doors, etc. From what we had seen in past episodes, I thought the Others had made it a little more "their own" after the purge. Does this mean the timeline has indeed changed, and perhaps the purge didn't happen just as it did before... but maybe some other "course correction" has wiped out Dharma in the mean time?
