In tonight's episode we got to see a model of the Swan Station at the Flame, where future hatchmate Radzinsky was manning the controls. This brings a great deal into question, like why Radzinsky felt the need to create the blast door map in the first place, if he had prior knowledge of all of the other stations, and seems to have held a fairly high post within the Dharma Initiative. In addition, he seems to have created the Swan model, and it appears similar to the one we saw in the original Swan Orientation film. So what do you think about Radzinsky's Blast Door Map now?

and it goes to Still_lost06
i played "LOST: Via Domus"
and i don't know if it means anything or not but in game we actually get to go around to another part of the Swan station where the electromagnet is (or whatever) and its in short circuit meaning the magnet is on, thats why Desmond said that everytime he went by the concrete wall his teeth hurt (electromagnetic energy.
so my guess follows the game exactly, behind the concrete sealed wall is the electromagnet that had to be released every 108 minutes otherwise it would pull anything towards it in full strenght.
(my apologies if i could not explain myself very thoroughly/clearly my english is not the best)
any theories?
muggle_born:
I went back and he said that (Sayid) could have seen the survey and where they are building (the swan). I would assume that once it gets built Radzinsky will be the go-to guy when something happens.
I also wonder if the swan hasn't been built yet then what the "incident" will be.
But once he built the Swan, didn't he man it?
Does Radzinsky working on the model necessarily mean that the Swan hasn't been built yet? Haven't we all created models of things that already existed just to pass the time? He seems to have a lot of time to be passing...
I hope that seeing this is a hint that we will be finding out what all the concrete was hiding. And where the escape tunnels actually lead.
Ehm, nope I have to correct myself - its not him (the nuthouse numbers guy - Radzinsky). They are similar but when you look closely, its two different people.
To BrianisLOST:
"Also, is it just me or did Radzinsky bare a striking resemblance to the dude that Hurley got the #'s from in the nuthouse?"
Yeah, thats it! I also was thinking "where do I know this guy from?" Then I´v discarded is as I probably saw him in a different TV series or movie.
But I think you may be right. This explains how did the nuthouse guy know about the numbers.
I don't think the original intent of the Swan station was for pushing the button. I thought the button pushing orientation was filmed after the incident... Maybe I'm misremembering?!?
Assuming Radzinsky did draw the map, he may have been doing it simply to attempt to remember where things were on the island. Imagine him stuck pushing the button for 5 or 10 years alone.. his memory of the layout of the DI stations may have significantly deteriorated...
I'm sorry SawyerLove, I meant he built it knowing that they had buried the H Bomb there.
Cusecuze, it's all part of their marketing program. "SWAN STATION. COMING SOON TO CRAPHOLE ISLAND." I mean, they got to build a buzz around it... otherwise, it's a hard sell to get someone to stay in there and press that button every 108 minutes.
Look closely at the blueprint that he is building the model on - its printed in reverse! All of the text is backwards - a prop error, or a clue?
I saw the Muppet Show on one of Radzinski's screens, anybody recognize anything else?
I totally didn't notice the Swan logo! Great catch, Cusecuze!
Did anyone else notice that in the orientation video shown to Jack, Kate, and Hurley, that Pierre Chang's lab coat had the Swan Logo on it? But it seems at this point in time, the Swan was still in the planning stage and the video would have had to have been shot prior to the date it was shown to the new recruits. Why advertise a station that they apparently wanted to keep secret from the Others (Radzinsky's paranoia after Sayid saw the model) ?
BrianLOST, They have already dealt with the H Bomb and Radzinsky is just now designing the Swan. Also, it was the Hostels that found the H Bomb, not Dharma. Are you meaning that Dharma knows the bomb is there and is now going to build the Swan over it?
Nevermind Sledge, here it is:

Also, is it just me or did Radzinsky bare a striking resemblance to the dude that Hurley got the #'s from in the nuthouse? Any chance of getting that pic Sledge, if you can?
He built it knowing that they were going to bury the H Bomb there.
Is it possible that Radzinski, knowing he wasn't going to be around much longer, drew the map for Kelvin or perhaps even for his DI replacement who never showed up. (Do you smell carrots?)
Just thinking aloud - how do we know for sure that Radzinski is the author of the Blast Door Map? Just because Kelvin said this to Desmond it does not have to be true - remember how he lied about the contamination and Quarantine? Maybe Kelvin killed Radzinsky and was drawing the Blast Door Map himself. Maybe he never even was a member of the Dharma and crashed on the islad (or was sent there)...
Remember Kelvin was in Iraq for the Gulf War...it had to have been after that. Post-Purge??
Maybe Kelvin was recruited shortly before the purge, but when the purge occurred, Radzinski and Kelvin didn't really know what had gone down -- they only knew everyone got gassed somehow, and that might help explain why they wore gas masks and hasmat suits whenever they left the hatch. Perhaps they thought it was an airborne sickness, and didn't realize it was just young Ben's handiwork.
That would be so cool to have a model of the swan station!
So kelvin must've come into the picture later on. After the station is actually built.
I believe Radzinski designed and built the swan station. He then was working at it when the Purge (or less likely the incident) happened. He was now one of the few DI left on the island so he stayed and pushed the button. Depression over the Purge and his solitude led him to kill himself.
He had all the inside knowledge of the island so he could create the map. Kelvin does not know of Radzinski inside knowledge so he is impressed by his memory during the visits outdoors.
