What's Hot: 5x05: "This Place is Death" Recap
The last serving of LOST featured the season premiere of Smokey, to fans' delight. And he did not disappoint! A restless Cerberus dragged a doomed Frenchman to an ancient temple, and there the poor man's arm lost it's body. The temple reveal was another long awaited bone-toss to faithful viewers. We also got confirmation that Mrs. Hawking is Dan's mom, and that Dan visits Charlotte on the island in the past. It was an episode that actually confirmed and answered more questions than it raised. So, how did it do in the segment ratings? Follow the link below to find out!
The segment ratings show that the last segment was the highest rated. This is always a good way to end an episode, and get viewers excited for the next installment. The return of the Christian-Jacob-Kristofferson ghost, appearing to Locke as a source of donkey-wheel-related motivation and admonishment, is certainly one factor driving up ratings for this segment. The arrival of the partial O6, Ben and Desmond to the Hawking church also set things up nicely for the next episode.
The lowest rated segment was the opener. Probably the best thing going in this segment, was the revelation that we would soon be seeing Smokey in action. Indeed, Smokey's appearance in Segment Two led to a spike up in the ratings. The following two segments, featuring a standoff between Sun and Ben, and Charlotte's ramblings returned lower ratings. Segment five, featuring Charlotte's death and the well, caused ratings to jump back up, leading into the top rated segment of the night.
