What's Hot: 5x06: "316" Recap
Episode 5x06 "316" set a new ratings record with an incredible 9.35 average. SWLS members absolutely loved this episode. 73% of all votes were a perfect 10. 92% of all votes were for scores of 8 or higher. There was a vote one vote each for a rating of 6 or 7. Neither voter posted a reason for those ratings. Viewers want the main characters of Lost to be together and we now have the Oceanic 6 (minus Aaron) back on the island with Sawyer, Jin, Juliet and friends. Watching the Oceanic 6 converge on the same flight with Ben and Frank Lapidus was true television magic. Please go to the next page to see the SWLS users' comments on this outstanding episode.
The praise for "316" was fast and furious. Lil started of the parade of 10's. "Finally know what 316 means, we found out that Dharma figured out where the island was and confirmed the windows. The island has been moving. Kate did something right for the good of all." RazzleDazzle echoed many comments that "the answers about the Christian shoes alone was worth a 10". I wonder if the producers of Lost knew that putting Christian in white shoes would be such a mystery to the viewers. I agree that I was glad to get the answer to that question. E.S.B gave "316" his first 10 ever. "This episode was phenomenal." Asomdean compared it as "The Led Zeppelin 4 of Lost". I was never a Zeppelin fan, but I understand where he is coming from. I would have gone with the Rolling Stones Exile on Main St. but I digress.
There was no stopping the praise of this episode. Ladybug is a tough grader but gave this episode a 10. "I don't give 10's often. This was definitely a 10." MangoBingo agrees, "There was absolutely no filler. Episode confirms that there is at least one off island Dharma station." This was a big reveal that opens the show up to having more off island stations. Domino praised this strong episode in a strong season as "best written episode this year. Classic Lost in the sense that they answered so many questions and created so many new ones." Mrs. Alpert raised her score from a 9 to a 10 with a second viewing. "This was a phenomenal episode. It was emotionally moving without being overly dramatic." The "Jack:Locke comparison to Thomas:Jesus" pushed her to a 10. Jack finally turning into a main of faith and leaving his whiny personality behind was a relief to many viewers. The beard had to go!!
The few complaints usually involved the new questions that emerged from "316'. The question of where Aaron is really irked some members. Bambi first rated it a 6 but moved it to an 8 after watching it a second time. "I liked the story but did not enjoy having the Aaron mystery thrown at us." Madam P was not thrilled with the acceptance of all the mysteries by the Oceanic 6 and Desmond. "The whole scene with Eloise Hawkins and Desmond. Neither of them seemed quite... right? Did not like that everyone accepted stuff without questions. Get on the plane, where's Aaron, Bloody Ben..." I felt that this was classic Lost. Answer a boat load of questions, but leave us with a bunch more to consume us. There has to be a good reason for Kate to leave Aaron and we will get that story in another fantastic episode in the future. At some point they will explain why Sayid was on the plane in handcuffs and how did Hurley find out about the flight, and get out of jail. This is why we watch! Answer some questions and leave us coming back for more. As Ladybug stated so beautifully in her comment, "love Lost!!!"

I loved when Jack met Frank in the plane. Classic TV - def. one of the best episodes in Lost...
I also loved the episode, to me it's an 8... but I've read some comments which I also agree with...
The whole reason for Mss. Hawkings gathering everyone at the church was to just give Jack a list of flights and show them the Dharma station? How about the mysticism stuff done with her a few episodes back, the importance of having ALL of them there at the same time?
That was badly written in my opinion.
Then just reviewing some episodes in the past, I am wondering, are we going to have a closure on the Walt story or is that it? How about the mistery of the cars in the parking lot, running over Michael and etc???
I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I'd hate to have some of these smaller mysteries not revealed at the end of the series.
Do we know that all 6 made it back yet? And Aaron may have been on the plane. We can't know for sure yet.
