Lost's Nuclear Bomb Tech Decoded: Season 5, "Jughead"

Jughead- Real Science of H BombsEvery week Popular Mechanics talks to experts after an episode airs to get insight and explore the science and the possibilities behind what we saw. This week, they're here to talk to us about H-bombs!

I too appreciated the responses as much as the article. The Orchid is the old more indigenous power source, like the Others. The Swan's inhibiting capabilities were to control Jughead, the 20th c. power, like Dharma. A large measure of our satisfaction in the island mystery is to peel away the layers of the onion. Why the Losties do what they do - is connected to why Ben's Others did what they did - is connected to why Dharma did what it did - is connected to what the Native Hostiles did what they did - and the whole slew flows into this Island. Which from now on I can only write with a capital I. The Island. I had no idea just how special she really is. I have a feeling the army was there to destroy it. Impossible.

Nice article and the comments below it gave me some insight. This explains the fear of radiation that Desmond and his buddy had when they wore the yellow bunny suits outside and perhaps what brought about the need to push the infamous button every 108 minutes. Still putting more things together in my head and making more connections.
