Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse participated in ComicCon panel discussion and an interview with the cable station G4. Ew.com gave the following report on the Lost panel discussion. Lost executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse weren't expected to reveal much of anything about the upcoming season at their Comic-Con panel Saturday; production on the drama won't begin for another three weeks in Hawaii and the writers are typically loathe to give spoilers away, anyway. Still, the duo didn't disappoint. They immediately took questions from the audience and gave Lost memorabilia to anyone who made it up to the microphone. Besides handing out nifty prizes like an autographed life jacket and a T-shirt that read, "I asked a question about Richard Alpert and all I got was this lousy T-shirt," the producers did offer up a few tidbits about the coming year. Jin and Locke will appear in one form or another, Rousseau's story will finally be told, and Walt's dog Vincent will stage a comeback (some fan, in fact, actually inquired about the dog's status). Oh, and Lindelof insisted that the Island did not move in the finale. Matthew Fox (pictured) showed up, too, mostly to glad-hand a fan and smile pretty for the room
The panel then took an odd turn when a pudgy, red-faced "recruit" from the Dharma Initiative bounded on stage to report that he just captured secret video from Dharma's Comic-Con booth. It featured Lost character Dr. Marvin Candle admitting to the camera that his real name was Chang, he was a professor from Ann Arbor, Mich., and that he was about to fall victim to a "violent purge" that he's "powerless to escape" (translation: he's dead now, folks). Candle's purpose for the video? He wanted to say his research on the Island was valid so the "Dharma Initiative should be reconstituted."
During the G4 interview the producers provided a couple of interesting tidbits. The most important question from the season 4 finale is where and WHEN is the island. Lindelof insisted it did not move, then it must of changed times. Interesting information if you believe what they say! They also claim that the way the story is told during season 5 is going to be different than the past. No more flashbacks or flashforwards?? We will have to wait and see. They also stated that they will see both the island population and the saved losties, Some interesting information to help us get through the off season.

WAY late to the game. Just got back into the show. This could be important, though. So assuming that the island jumped time, the Earth would continue to spin, meaning that the island would reappear in a different place. So it technically still exists in its own place in space, but the Earth will have moved underneath it.
EdlarWarrior, where did those photos come from? I mean, if it's an episode of Lost, which one? Maybe it's been too long for me, but I can't remember that... Thanks.

How does changing time mean the island isn't there? If you go forward and the island is destroyed, than we will hear no more from anyone left on the island. If you go back in time, the island is still there. Does that make sense to anyone else?
=> Considering that the Black Rock was stuck in the middle of the island, and the mention of the apperance of a volcano in the flashbacks from "The man behind the curtain", I would say that at a previous time, there was no island.
Then, it appeared out of the bottom of the sea, catching unexpectedly the Black Rock while it was sailing in the open sea.
Thus, by going back in time, the area where the island was could become an open sea again.
The question then would be: where does that leave the island and its inhabitants? Oo
Who is that mysterious dark figure in the back ground?

Why...it's Dr. Edgar Halliwax

Has anyone else heard of a cameo by Rosario Dawson in Season 5?!
On the island-I think the idea is along the lines of the island was removed from this time, and "placed" in another time. I'm not a big fan of the time travel aspect either, but it's something we have to deal with.
Anyway...I heard this past weekend on G4 that they are already filming for season 6, that sounds wrong to me that they would be that far ahead of schedule. Can anyone confirm this??

I HATE time travel on Lost.
dont get me wrong at all... i love the show trust me i do... i feel i have a very strong understanding of seasons ast and very good theories for seasons to come... but does anyone else have a small feeling that LOST might be jumping the DHARMA shark???
I'm thinking the island is in another time, which would explain their hesitation to use the term "flashback" and "flashforward." Obviously the format will have to change somehow because there are two separate stories to tell: the story on the island and the story in the outside world.
The most intriguing thing I heard in listening to the panel was Darlton saying that Daniel's notebook has in it items from the past and the future -- and the notebook will feature prominently. Sounds cool to me.
The no Flashforwards and Flashbacks was just a guess. The only statement made so far was that the story telling technique will be different. Just to clairfy
Hey Maxor, what I was getting at is I believe that the new season will contain less mythology more plot lines that will reach a conclusion. Instead of the ff or fb's it will be like any other standard television series. I believe it will tell a story from Dharma's perspective that led up to there demise from Ben & the outlaw hostiles. So, the story doesn't stagger it needs to be explained in full without a brief scene of daddy issues in a VW van and a can of poisonous gas. Oh that's the purge.
Then when they do go back to other (Times/places/consciousness) it will be the same. So, first half of the hour one part then second half hour another. That's what I feel we could be in store for. Maybe a custody battle between Jack and Kate and obviously Jack wins cause he wants to go back to the island and we all know Aaron is headed back one way or another. Maybe a Sawyer Juliet relationship. Or, how about a kidnapped Sun baby by Widmore playing ransom for the Oceanic 6 to find the disappearing island.
Ok, I'm going out on pedestal. It's going to a doozey! In either case I'm sure it's going to close a few more doors than opening new ones by changing this format. It has too...right????
I swear, if they don't fill in some of the blanks, I will go to whereever J.J. Abrahms lives, and pull six years of my life out of his a$$.
I don't see how you infer that it will be less complicated and more soap opera-ish.
Hmm...Purge
Hmm...Island doesn't move (more time travel puke)
Hmm...No FF or FB's?
Hmm...Maybe they are getting the ball rolling. It's gut check time. Make it less complicated but more soap opera-ish. Be prepared for a new type of Lost. For better or for worse till death do us part.
