What's Hot: 4x13: More Glyphs
When Ben uses the Frozen Donkey Wheel to move the island, he is in an old cave in which there are some hieroglyphs. Of course, we first caught sign of such glyphs on the Hatch Computer count down doomsday clock. Then, we saw glyphs in Ben's secret cave inside his secret room, inside a secret room. These glyphs seem to be tied to the natives of the island, and the four-toed statue, temple, and ruins we have seen or heard about. Of course, we don't really know what any of this is about... but we have two more seasons to find out. Take a closer look after the jump, and send your translations to us in the comments section!

Update: Per the Official LOST Audio Podcast, these glyphs translate to "Ressurection," which is to be a huge* theme in Season 5.
I would be quite interested in seeing Richard Alpert with his shoes off!! I wonder how many toes this guy has?
anyone connect the glyphs in the ice room with the glyphs on the time counter in the Swan? there are a couple similar ones...
feyguy said: I hate to say it but the glyph at the lower right looks a lot like a cartoon version of a flying saucer!
Nah... it's a Martian version of Kilroy Was Here...
Donkey wheel? I can't imagine donkeys would handle the cold all too well. Now polar bears on the other hand might work out rather well, until they escape or get teleported to the Sahara.
Lol it's a papyrus ;)

Hi from France all :)
I tried to transcript the glyphs
http://blaq.free.fr/Lost/traduction2.jpg
The only thing I've found is : the papyrus and the 3 lines are determinative, the word before is something absract (the papyrus) and plural.
The other glyphs are a wave, a quail chick, a reed and a goose.
Hope it will be the beginning of a translation ;)
Aaaaargggg, I can't take it anymore!!!!
What does it al mean. And now we have to wait for the better part of a year to find out!!!
Anyone read glyphs??? plzzzz
Yay! Your guys' ideas keep my head spinning! Like the wheeeeel!
***It's not a Donkey Wheel. It's a Dharma Wheel***
Good call. I just looked up images of the wheel of dharma and you were spot on. This changing of an age is also paralleled in ancient astrology. One "age" is about 2150 years and moves according to the zodiac symbols, and goes in reverse order. So we were in the age of Aries, then the birth of Jesus brought us into the age of Pieces. This is also represented in the form of a wheel. See here: http://www.solarnavigator.net/history/astrology/astrology_images/Zodiac_Wheel_sixth_century_mosaic_Beit_Alpha.jpg.
I'm not saying that all this LITERALY translates to Lost. It is strictly metaphorical.
a new phase with a new leader---locke
It's not a Donkey Wheel. It's a Dharma Wheel, a piece of Buddhist Symoblism. I recognized it instantly last night. The turning of the wheel of dharma represents a new phase of teachings of Buddhism. Thus the turning of the wheel last night represents a new phase in the island's life.

Back when we first saw the glyphs on the count-down people were quick to tell us what they meant. Where are those people now? Help us!
Hmm, Atlantis was an island that disappeared "beneath the waves."
so now we are setup for bens appearance in the desert with his injured arm and winter jacket-right?
That is a wicked good observation. It could also be like winding a clock as in time.
That's an interesting observation.. Like if the Island isn't "anchored" it's set adrift in space/time.
The 'Donkey Wheel' looks like a capstan - a capstan is used on a sailing ship ( The Black Rock? ) to raise the anchor. Significant?
Atlantis...hyperdimensional physics theory...string theory.
The island moved interdimensionally - a wormhole, if you will - to another location on earth.
