Jacob is smokie. The cabin is like a temple to visit for the faithful. The leaders as ben said have dreams and see. They still don't know what jacob looks like. Probably a burning bush or maifestation of your imagination. Most westerners see god as an old guy surrounded by cherubs. His son was a good looking white guy. That's what is representative of a collective view. Others believe god is a tamed satan, thus the white/black ying/yang good/evil the edge not to far for him to fall.
We don't know when Jacob began to live there... that is an interesting question. And when did Ben begin to visit Jacob? Do we know that?
If Hoarce built the cabin, then why would Jacob be there? I was under the impression that Jacob was a very ancient inhabitant of the island...
Also, I wonder if that first screen capture of Jacob in the chair was the actor that played Hoarce.. I'm going to have a look at it.
