4x11: Christian in the Cabin

4x11_christian.jpgTonight Locke entered the cabin to meet Jacob, and who was there waiting for him...none other than Christian Shepard. But Christian clearly tells Locke, "He can speak for Jacob." So is Christian Jacob, or just a manifestation Jacob is using? You tell us.

Wenak, ditto's on Brianislost's comment. Takes some time to wrap you head around all of it, but seems plausible.

So simple it just might work.

wenak, that was pretty deep and possibly even spot on.

I think it's pretty simple... Jacob is a spirit. In order for him to take the form of a body, he needed a body - and Christian's dead, unused body in the coffin was available, so he took it.

I believe that since Charlie has already been brought back to life once, it isn't impossible to do it again. To address the baby not being with Claire: Christian/Jacob said in more or less words that the baby did not belong with Claire. Could this have to do with the whole reincarnation theory? I know that someone on this site mentioned that there could be two bloodlines to the island's special people (Widmore, Ben, Locke, probably Richard and the black man who organized the "retraction Party"). Maybe Aaron could be on the bad side and Jacob knows this.
Just another part of my theories.

Some post, some time ago, maybe even last season, it was stated that the Island could heal but NOT bring back the dead... as they say in OZ "you are not merely dead, but really really dead" (well, the munchkins sing it and they can be hard to understand lol). This was all discussed when Palo and girlfriend died and people worried that somehow they might be brought back to life.

So, if we have seen Christian dead (did we? really? hmmmmm) then he must be dead.

Are you guys saying Christian could have been "resurrected" by the island?

Oh but we did! Jack identified his farther in the morgue and we saw his dead body.

I thought the producers said that Charlie was dead. "We felt it was time for him to go." Or some such quote. So he is gone. As for the other "are they dead or not" characters we can only try to figure it out with the vague clues given to us.... and a lot of supposing.

NovaShannon...

From reading your comments on several posts, I realize that we are on the same page with a lot of this stuff. We should talk about some theories. Feel free to email me.

WE never actually saw Christian dead. Did Jack ever get a look into the coffin? Maybe Chris was never even in the coffin. OR maybe he was dead, but revived by the island. So... is charlie still "alive?" Clarie, Christian, etc?

I like how this is one of the only unsolved things from the first few episodes(when Jack opened up the empty coffin then smashed it to bits). We still don't know why exactly that coffin was empty.

An important aspect of this who's dead who's not discussion is who's immortal. We've been told and shown that Michael can't die-the island won't let him until he does whatever it is he's supposed to do. Now we've seen that Locke cheated death as a baby and again after being shot by Ben. When Ben visits Charles, and is asked "Are you here to kill me?" Ben relplies "We both know I can't do that," (I'm paraphrasing, but that's what he said really) and Ben himself, despite the cancer, has been healing incredibly fast. Also, when Locke points a gun at Jack's head and pulls the trigger... nothing happens.

My point, I guess, is that if Michael, Locke, Charles Whidmore, and possibly Ben and Jack can't die then it's certainly possible that Claire and to a lesser degree Christian (who was actually already quite dead before arriving on the island) can't die either. It's a fairly new development in the plot but it seems pretty involved in everything right now.

Claire could have died in her sleep when they stopped to rest on their way back to camp. She could have sustained internal injuries in the blast that were undetected. But I don't think she is dead.

I still am not convinced that Christian is dead. I can't help but wonder if he used those spiders that bit Paulo and what's her name, that made them appear dead. But they were temporarily paralyzed and appeared dead. I think in the crazy world we know as Lost, it's possible that Christian used those spiders to make him appear dead to lure Jack to fly with his body. You never know! hee hee

I personally don't think either one is dead. I think Christian is linked to the island like richard and that is why his whole blood line is important to the island (i.e. Claire & her baby, Jack) I think Jack's getting sick because he was doing the wrong thing by trying to leave the island proves the connection.
looks like Christian has just brought claire into the fold and she has accepted it.

Well, at least this answers the "Is Christian Jacob??" question, and although I said I wouldn't, I can't hold back...TAKE THAT EVERYONE WHO SAID HE WAS!! WOO!!!

BrianisLOST said:

If Claire is dead how did Sawyer, Locke and Hurley see her? Miles ok, he seems to have a connection with the dead. Could Christian somehow not be dead afterall as some of us have suspected

col81 said:

Yeah, I wonder if she died in the RPG blast.. She did mumble "charlie" when sawyer ran up. I assumed it was because she was out of it, but it also might have been because she saw Charlie as a result of her death..

Christian is dead...some are now saying Claire is dead I'm starting to believe that.

Anyway Christian looked super sick in the cabin. Is he having health problems in real life???
