We know Ben doesn't have any trouble getting fake passports, he has a drawer full of them, so it's no big surprise that he's able to hook Michael up with one. I was glad to see that they didn't use the format for the new passports. That's consistent with getting the passport in 1999. Yay for them.
1st. You CAN smile in passports pics. Doesn't matter if you are smiling, you have to be looking ahead, your head must cover at least 50% of the pic and you should, preferentially, show your ears.
2nd. He did not sign the passport because he's just got it.
3rd. It's not HNSO. It's HNS0 (zero).
4th. Ben's passport CAN the same number because it was also counterfeited by them and because it's NOT an american passport. Let's remember that.

What suicidal are you guys talking about? I don't remember that going on. I know he tried to kill himself but it looks like you're talking about something else. What is it? Who's Jeremy Bentham?

Just curious - I've never seen a US passport, but are the headings actually printed in English and French as they are on this one? I would have thought that the passport would be in English only, or possibly English/Spanish.
Any significance to Michael/Kevin not signing the passport?

the man's name was Jeremy Bentham, but it being Michael is unlikely i think. We don't even know if he makes it home again. I'm guessing the most obvious which is it being Ben.

Whoever the person was online who translated the newspaper article said it happened in New York, the man who died had a teenaged son. The service that no one attended was in California in what appeared to be a black neighborhood. Does anyone remember the man's name? Could it have been an anagram of Kevin Johnson? It ties in with Michael being suicidal over guilt and the fact that would really send him over the edge, that Walt refused to have anything to do with him.
Ho hum. Where did they get a head shot of Michael smiling? AND No, you can't smile in passport photo's but that was after 9/11, his passport was issued in 1999.

I can't believe that Michael's birthdate in the fake passport claims he's 41. He's barely looks 35.
Top right might be HNSO, but the bottom left it definetly says JOHNSON. HNSO could simply be that.

No they don't reissue the same number to different people. I think the idea is that this is not a legitamate passport. Ben's people made fraudulent documentation to get Michael on the boat.
Although, not very imaginative on their part to use the same number.

Ben has a Passport with the same Passport number in the top right corner. HNSO12153. Can they reissue passport numbers like that? I do not think so.
Also, Ben's passport was issued on the 2nd day of the month and expires ten years later one day earlier, while Michael's was issued on teh "00" day of the month (does that even exist?) and expires ten years plus one day LATER.
Can we make this leap that? If Michael is in New York and suicidal, he is the person in the casket who hung himself in a New York loft?
How about the fact that the passport was issued on a date that doesn't exist! July 00, 1999 !
