What's Hot: 4x04: More Books
The new season is already four episodes old and it is time to exam what our memebers think of the season. After analyzing the poll results it is clear that our members are really enjoying this season. SWLS members have given this season an average rating of 8.2. The smooth addition of four new characters has gone over much better than the Nikki and Paulo mistake of last season. Let's take a closer look at each episode this season.
The season started out strong with "The Begining of the End". Our faithful readers were pleased with 8.2 average rating. It was the most consistent rating this year with a range of 5 to 10. No one hated this episode. After the long break, Lost did not let us down. The most popular rating was a 9. People loved this episode. Namaste stated 'i loved every skin crawling minute of it." Princess Leia agreed with DirtyMaggie and LAS with a rating of an 8 saying "it felt like a preface, not even a full chapter." Cardacct summed it up the best, "I love Hurley episodes."
"Confirmed Dead" has earned the highest rating this year with an 8.4 average. It did have a larger range of opinion with people rating it anywhere from 2 to 10. It also had a rating of 9 as the most popular result. Creflo thought it is "possibly the best so far." That is high praise. Sweet Old Lady agrees stating "I gave it a 10, I love the new characters". Not everyone loved it, Point Place gave it the lowest rating with a 2 complaining that "it was so choppy, so misguided" So not everyone loves the new characters, but they did go over well with most people.
The Sayid centric "The Economist" produced the third 8 plus rating to start of the season. An 8.3 score with a most popular rating of 8 putting this episode in second place this season. People liked the strong ending with us discovering that Sayid now works for Ben. Ladybug loved this episode and the season asking Sledge for a new scoring system. "If these episodes keep getting better you're going to have to add bigger numbers" So we know Ladybug is digging this season. Princess Leia was less thrilled with her philosophical post "Like sex and pizza, any Lost is good Lost. But this episode was just slower." She is tough, a couple of killings and a surprised ending is slow to her.
Eggtown was my personal favorite of this season, but it was SWLS least favorite coming in with a 7.3 rating. It also earned the first score of 1. Even the most popular rating was split between 6 and 10. This episode really was viewed differently among the members. After three episodes of more and more questions, we got some answers. (Plus it was Kate centric). Hanso Jr. agreed pointing to the ending, "I couldn't believe who him was!" Alwayslost was on the other end of opinion, "I did not like this episode at all. Very boring even though we got some answers and insight'. But Lakelost sums it up "Top notch Lost". Well said!
,p>The SWLS members have been loving the new season. We are not an easy crowd to please but Lost has been doing it so far this season. Hopefully the season will stay strong for all of the episodes.

Personally I did not see that coming. I thought it was a great end to episode 4!
I was really pumped for this season to start after being away for so long AND I just (finally) bought an HDTV, so it's taken me this long to realize... the season's really not that great. The whole Ben/Locke scene parallel to when Ben was locke din the hatch, while purposefully created to remind of us of that scene, was in fact lame. Locke's character, which certainly allowed to change, has completely altered into something unrecognizable. I'm so sad to say it, but it's melodramatic and tries to make it seem like we're shocked (insert dramatic Lost music here) when we find things out that don't shock us. Yep, it was Aaron. Not a surprise. Bummer!
I feel the same way about flashforwards as I did about flashbacks. If they are too long it takes away from the island folk we care about. I did not feel the Hurley episode really answered anything Sayid's was too long Kate's was better.
We see next to nothing of our Losties like Rose and Bernard, Sun and Jin, Claire and Aaron ,Alex and Karl, Danielle, etc.
How about a Danielle flashback?
Anyway, love the new season, the new characters
are interesting as well.
I would give the new season an 8.4
Everyone knows I am a big fan of Evi, but Kate's character is not always written well. The whole bank heist setup to recover a toy plane was too much. Her constant flip flop towards Sawyer portrays her as bitch. But I always liked the kicked a$$ Kate compared to the sweet and hot side we do get to see. I think that is why her episodes are not always highly received.
I'm so harsh. Let me get this straight. I love every episode of Lost. I wouldn't trade any single one for a reality show. I tell it how I see it. It may be extremely different than others. I loved the first episode and also enjoyed how they have incorporated the boaties. I especially love how I want certain things out of each character to happen but they don't necessarily go that way. I know that seems like a lie but if I could pick an ending it wouldn't be Lost. It is what it is. The show has kept me around. I can say that for maybe two shows my entire lifetime.

You know what's funny is, I love Kate and cannot imagine the show without her. That being said, her episodes seem lacking.
I LOVE Lost and am thrilled to see the direction we are moving in.
"I Do" 3x4 - avg rating 6.7
"Left Behind" 3x15 - avg rating 7.7
It seems that people don't like Kate flashbacks/forwards.
