Anyone else notice the surplus of German cars? BMW/Mercedes/VW? Nice touch there.

I am from Germany, the flag with the eagle is the official flag of the German Government and just the Government is allowed to use it. "Normal people", like u and me, are just allowed to use the flag without the eagle.

I was in Berlin(capital city) this week and saw the flag with the eagle.

I wasn't talking about the est german flag - it's the west german flag. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was used, when german was split... but you seem to be right about the fact that it is still used.

The flag is not actually the old East German Flag -though it is similar.
The flag with the eagle on it is the German State Flag.

I was wondering about the "Die Mauer"-Logo in the glass window behind sayid. then i stumble across the fact that the outdoor pic shows the german flag which was used back when german was split in west and east!

nowadays there is no eagle on it - just the stripes! so i get the feeling that the berlin wall is still standing!!!

so it could be an alternative reality, something changed the course of time / events or it is a flashback...

error - it can't be a flashback to the days when we had the wall - because the menu clwearly shows euros (€).

so what do you think about it?

That scene was shot in Hawaii. The LostVirtualTour site had some posts about how bizarre it looked. Snow in Hawaii. I don't recall any shots up at that time, but there may be by now.

Does anyone know where the filmed the outdoor shot of Berlin? Was this shot in Hawaii?

I think the window ( img one) should allegorise the Berlin Wall and has nothing to do with Jakob.

But the menu sign is full of misspelling. In every word two failures ;)

Also in the out door photo, walking on the sidewalk, next to the older man, looks like a very slimmed down Hurley. Maybe it is just mind tricks!

Look at the top image(cafe one) and look in the window. by the top right hand corner of the menu sign, it looks like a face, or a person.

Does anyone have any ideas about the image on the glass window in the background behind Sayid? Could it be an Eskimo with a dog team?

I know I'm a week late on this one. But on last weeks episode when we see Lapidus notice the tv there is a moment when the camera focuses on what is on top of the TV. There are some brochures there that seem to have a date, or at least a year and time of year on them. That might help us place when the "it's not Penny's boat" people are hearing about the crash.

Perhaps there is some symbolism with the snow and his hands, like Pilate. Because earlier in the episode as when he left the golf course the sprinkers turn on.

Almost like a cleansing ritual or perhaps it was nothing and we are reading into this.

None the less he is certainly off the island in the future.

It's possible he feels "dirty" after talking to Ben, so he washes his hand off after. I know that doesn't explain why he didn't wash his ear out, but hey, it's just a theory.

LITM-I think he grabbed the snow for the same reason that Hurley was drawing an Eskimo and an igloo. It's not the island. Sort of like a reminder that he is actually off of it. that's the way I took it.

Why does Sayid grab a handful of snow after he throws the phone away? I really thought that was odd. At first I thought it was to obscure his finger prints or something, but he did it AFTER tossing the phone.....??
