For the 50€ banknote, this is not the same as real.
Maybe a movie version ...
ILoveLost-That wasn't a flashback, that was a hallucination that Locke had after the hatch blew up. Ben was never at the airport. At least not that we have seen.
the british £20 notes were withdrawn fron circulation back in 2001...?
See quote below from the Bank Of England themselves...
26 January 2001
The new style £20 note (featuring Sir Edward Elgar and containing enhanced security features) is now in widespread circulation. Accordingly, the Bank has today given notice that the old style £20 notes (which feature Michael Faraday) are now being withdrawn from circulation and, to give effect to this, legal tender status will be withdrawn from the note on 28 February 2001. After 28 February 2001, bank branches will continue to accept these notes and they will, of course, remain payable at the Bank of England for all time.
There are over 700 million £20 notes in circulation of which around 120 million are Faraday £20 notes. These notes are now used less frequently in day-to-day transactions.
The new design £20 banknote, featuring Sir Edward Elgar on the reverse, was first issued on 22 June 1999. It introduced three new security features – a foil hologram, an ultraviolet feature and micro-lettering.
So, Ben appears to be leaving the island. My question is this...Do you remember Locke's flashback a few season's ago (don't remember exactly when)where he saw Ben in the airport right before they all got on the plain. I wonder if he really was there? It seemed from the info we got later on that the Others were surprised by the plain crash (including Ben himelf). But Ben has lied plenty of times before...I wonder if that flashback was true and Ben really was in the airport?
I don't know if it's of any importance, but he has like 3 stacks of Japanese money, and mostly the recent one, that has been issued in 2005. You can recognize it by the little hologram appearing on the top one on the picture, just under Faraday's.
I made a mention of Michael Faraday in the "A Wrinkle in Time" investigations page. To physicists, he is best known for his work in magnetism. In fact one of the Maxwell's Equations is named for him, Faraday's Law.
So I agree his picture on the currency is an easter egg.
Daniel would most likely be a great, great, grandson instead of son since Michael died in 1867
Different Money/passports/clothes styles for different times visited?
Thats a good catch in regards to Michael Faraday. It would seem logical that the character Daniel Faraday from the boat is his son and also a electrochemist/physicist.
The passports make sense I assumed he goes off island. I figured the picture that Miles has was taken off island.
I think there is an Easter egg in the money drawer. The bank note that is prominently sticking out is English Currency (a 20 pound not to be exact) featuring Michael Faraday (an English Chemist and Physicist) that is still in circulation but out of print since 1993. Here is part of his bio. I’ll give the link for the rest.
Michael Faraday, FRS (September 22, 1791 – August 25, 1867) was an English chemist and physicist (or natural philosopher, in the terminology of that time) who contributed to the fields of electromagnetism and electrochemistry.

Wisely, the forum strips links. gallery found at

Was there any easter egg stuff going on with the books in the bookcase that Sayid passed his hand over as he tried to find the way in? I looked over at the Lost Photo Gallery but it skips over that small part.
