The "Battle" "Royale" are actually not part of that football player picture.
Looks like they were cut out from something else and posted above the picture
I believe the "Battle Royale" thing is speaking of the two football players butting heads in the picture underneath the words. Just meaning the literal translation of the term "battle royale" being "a fight to the finish" or "an intense altercation". Possibly a reference to an upcoming rivalry game.
I do love the BR book and movie though!!
The Photo Restoration poster has an address that looks like "N King St." Lost Virtual Tours site says that some of the scenes in this epi were filmed on King St.
Thought it worth a mention.
the black lady looks like Oprah Winfrey !!!
I think we oversee the Battle Royale link on the board in the dead boys rooms.
Battle Royale is a japanese cult movie about a highschool class used in a warped expirement where they are unleashed on an island to kill each other and only one will survive.... i see some similarities.... certainly a good clue there.
I Googled the helicopter's registration # and found:
http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/N842M.html
It included the same screenshot courtesy of ABC, so I guess it is a real helicopter registered in Montana.
Just before Miles goes into the house, the radio is broadcasting a news update of the discovery of the Flight 815 crash. So definitely not taking place in the past.
I concur with the La Habra. I blew it up and would bet money it says 2004. Though it could be an old poster, the room did not look like it had been uninhabited for long.
Looking at the screen cap with the bike in it:
Seems to be a year on the La Habra schedule. I think it is 2004. A bit blurry, but that's my best guess.
"KJGav said:
Nothing earth shattering, but two of the numbers (8 and 42) are on the helicopter."
Also, if you go a little nerdy on it: 8x2=16
so 4,8,16, & 42
Just curious about something, when did we revert to the alternate reality theory?? I thought that was abandonned awhile ago when the producers told us that Desmond had in fact gone back in time.
The photo restoration flyer is for "Photo Restoration by Jenny something"(i couldn't make out the last name). The phone number at the bottom has an area code of 808(Hawaii).
The papers with the blue square logo are from American Express...
I don't think that helps much...are they a sponsor?
In the ghost boy bulletin board shot, there are a couple interesting things:
1. The two business cards in the lower left corner of the board have gold foil "eye" logos. I'm pretty sure I've seen that somewhere before.
2. Interesting that there is also a brochure for photo restoration/editing in an episode so heavily laden with photograhed images(the images of the boat used on the news, young boy portrait in house, Ben)
Did anyone notice that one of the things posted on the board behind the woman in the second cap, is a ad for Photo restoration? I find that odd, perhaps Ghost boy did in fact die in the past.
First time post :D
Can anyone get a closer view of the notes and business cards on the wall behind them? It's probably nothing important, but it would be interesting to know what they say.
Sorry for double...NOT taking place in 1988
I would agree that this is NOT taking place in 1988. Miles would have been almost 20 years younger than on the island (assuming he is in the same time as Charlott since he came with her, and she was more than 11 years old).
I would have estimated his age as in his thirties. He didn't look much different on his ghost hunt than he did on the island. I know there is some liberty taken when using the same actor...but 20 years???

Good call on Mile High Stadium, that looks like a winner. To backup the "the scene might not be old" theory, if the kid who lived in the room died, maybe the Mom left the room as it was. So it could have been sitting unchanged since 1988, even though the "ghostbusting" took place closer to 2003.
Who's to say the boy died recently? She could have been dealing with the ghost for years before calling Miles....hence the Nintendo 8-bit system (which I still have and play!)
I don't see that anybody else mentioned this.. so here goes.. In the photo of the bedroom with the 'ghost'.. the poster above the desk says.. 'Resurrection'
Are the losties dead, resurrected, time shifted...
Guess we'll find out... EVENTUALLY!
Just having an old Nintendo doesn't mean the flashback is from that time period. Heck, my kids still have their old Nintendo systems and it's 2008. :)
The stadium is actually the old Mile High Stadium in Denver, where the Broncos used to play... Look closely and you'll see the Bronco atop the scoreboard.
There is a poster in the room that looks like a basketball schedule for "La Hambra", which is in California, just outside LA. As for the football stadium, that looks like Ohio Stadium, home of the Ohio State Buckeyes. But I could be wrong with that one...
the first pic should have the caption, "folks 'round these parts call me mother abigail"
Nothing earth shattering, but two of the numbers (8 and 42) are on the helicopter.
The picture of the room with the television... I see an original Nintendo System with quite a few games. I'd say this flashback takes place in the very late 80's to early 90's. Also, does anyone recognize the stadium in the photo on the wall. I have racked my brain and come up with nothing.
