Yes, but both of these events were in the past. That doesn't help us with our timeline. We were just watching flashbacks. All we know is that the paper is dated sometime between the Oceanic crash and the time the "rescue" folks show up on the island.

In response to BobBX542,

I am a die hard Red Sox fan. Knowing that, they won the World Series on October 27, 2004. Therefore the date on that newspaper would have to be after that date, as Ben showed Jack a clip of them winning back in season 3.

Maybe when the Redhead saw the paper it had only been a month since the crash. Then another month of organization by the guy who hired Naomi and it would be about the right time.

Your body soaks up water like a sponge and then starts falling apart. Thats why or fingers and toes get wrinkled in the tub. :)

not necessarily because this screenshot is from a flashback, and the losties have been there for months now.

Wasn't the chick on the island, the new red head the same person who showed up at the polar bear excavation? Unless they can all time travel, it's about the same time.

According to this picture the plane is busted apart, but in other shots the plane is still intact at the bottom of the ocean??

Bodies left underwater, salt or not, would not be that preserved. Maybe the Dead sea, MAYBE, but I doubt it. There just comes a certain point when the body is too degraded, and then the seat belt wouldn't do any good.

I'm thinking that this has to be within a month of the plane crashing. Don't hold me to that, but if anyone can get it, I bet the date is between september 22, 2004, and October 22, 2004. Of course, I could totally be wrong.

There appears to be a date somewhere above 815:RETROUVE. Any way that could be made out sledge?

yes, the sate would help. they accidentally found the wreckage of the Titanic in 1985, some 70 years after it sunk, so who knows when this paper is from. I think salt water would preserve the bodies too, not sure though

"le lavage de cerveaux en liberte"

"the washing of brains in freedom"

intent of phrase: "Brainwashing in order to believe you are free."

NEXT.

"(something) Philosophie >> Une Oeuvre Originale A Detacher"

"(something) Philosophy >> An Original Work Ripped Off"

NEXT.

"Mobilisation des Salaries, Contre Le Tout Anglais"

"Mobilization of the Working Class, Against The Whole English"

-probably a slogan for this particular Tunisian Paper.

Can anyone make out the date of the newspaper itself?
