3x22: Ghost Walt!

3x22: Ghost Walt!In 3x22, the season finale, "Through the Looking Glass", Walt shows up just in time to stop Locke from putting a bullet in his brain. Of course, the real Walt is elsewhere... it's Ghost Walt! He's now 37 years old and has learned to speak forward! Walt tells Locke that he has work to do, and Locke seems to heal pretty quickly and is up to the task. Except for the shooting Jack part.

maybe when him and micheal left on the boat it went for a while but eventually ran out of gas and the electromagnetic implosion attracted all metal to the hatch and the boat was pulled back to the island, as was the plane. and they are trapped on the island once more. just a thought.

A leak was made a few days ago that the walt that helped locke was the real walt!
A previous script says that walt has the ability to be in millions of place at oce as long as he is on the island.

The others gave michael a fake walt and when they left the islands waters walt dissapeared.

Originally the message sent from walt to micahel on the comp was from a walt clone,as the clones are controlled by the island and the walt that helped locke was the real one who escaped.

Plus jacob has a 2nd list this is for people connected to the island this includes Aaron, locke and walt the other 5 will be secreltey givin in the 4th season.

Who knows if theyll use the same script???

Wow. All these theories are a lot to process at once for someone like me who wants to keep up to speed but can't find the time. I think that Walt has a special conenction to the Island which is why he was kidnapped in the first place. One site I've visited lists "Astro-projection" as one of the Initiative's studies. I believe that Walt has been using these abilities to protect the island.

i don't agree with Kate2007,,,you know, The Others took Walt and directly led to Michael's senseless doing. of course Sawyer was irritated and you must concede he was a man of remembering hate badly. In 3x22,Walt is bigger obviously, why? they are not in the right time? Walt was been experimented by someone or by the island? i wish the both are not the actual fact...

did no else notice what sawyer said in the end when he shot tom? wasnt it somewhere along the lines of this is for taking the kid? maybe he saw something he didnt tell anyone...

Whale food, shark bait or just decomposition. Remember they were searching in the wrong area due to the flight being off-course. Not to mention if it is Dharma maybe they used bodies from the African villages where the vaccination experiments failed? Who knows.

BadRobot...I think the same thing. I thought she was just buttering up Charlie too with how they celebrated his death and all that. She's just blowing smoke to the Losties...I never felt that what she said about the plane being found was true.

Maybe Walt and Michael got sent in the direction of Naomi's ship. Maybe Michael is captive and Walt escaped back to the island, or Walt is captive too and is using his "powers" to appear where he doesn't belong. With flashforwards, we could see Walt off the island in the future, and it won't seem weird for him to have aged being that it is the future.

Hurleys Belly said:

Geez, I thought that was Eko at first. Walt has gotten huge.

What really gets to me ...kinda off topic so sue me... but what really gets to me is all the people still perplexed by how the plane was found and all the bodies were accounted for.... NO THEY DIDNT!!!! has it occurred to anyone that Naomi said they sent a mechanical thing that took picutres of the wreck and allthe bodies were accoutned for... has everyone on here forgot what show we're watching??? pictures can be doctored, or even fully made up. i dont think anythign was sent underwater to look for the plamne.. its a huge set up. none of the wreck was salvaged?? just left there ? i dont think so.. it a huge set up cover up.... 2 cents....

maybe because everything changed after the crash (in the future)..like we all remember certain events here, certain deaths, bombings, tsunami's, hurricanes etc..maybe Naomi remembers it and its in that area she is being dropped into..and where did the helicopter go that dropped her off??

..and they would have cut his hair too! :)
Regarding to Naomi and the "from future theory", what first came to my mind was: if she is from the future, how does she remembered the Flight 815 so abruptly. If she comes from the future, some years passed (what would explain the "new" technology that Sayid confirmed), and plane crashes are not soo rare, is it normal one remembers it so quickly or does she has a good memory or is it an information she has to know according her job (whatever this might be)?.. again... confused!...

LostMK said:

Looch18, I think U R right with Walt from the future. I think the writers wanted to show more an older Walt than a younger or at least they didnt want Walt to look younger (as from the same time line) cause, in contrary to a comment more down, I think if they wanted him to look younger, they would take it from above/ bird's eye view and not from Locke's perspective/ worm's-eye view.
And he is wearing the "same" T-Shirt, they would have put bigger clothes to make him look younger. They sure noticed that the Shirt doesnt fit in the same way, but did NOT give him a bigger size in order to alter him to look more like in [URL=Clickie[/URL].]Clickie
I definetively think they wanted him to look older!
But it is still confusing, why Walt is still wearing the "same" TShirt? Does this meaan, he comes from the future but still didnt get off the island?!
Or is it a mistake after all.. but from such professionals?!..my god..I am confused :(

Halsfire said:

looch18- wow you just made everything click in my brain! That makes total sence...Naomi having that little future phone wouldn't make as much sece unless she IS from the future. With the show getting deeper and deeper into the whole time travel thing it's not to hard to believe.

Looch18 said:

what if.. Walt was from the future? That could explain why he was older. We know that Naomi said "the were no survivors from the plane crash." This would have us assume they found the reckage, but no people. (The reckage, as we know, is where the survivors are.) So, is Naomi from the future, too? This would tell us that Walt and Michael are not on Naomi's boat. She said no one survived - and they obviously did.

elise said:

anything is possible...Richard never ages and Walt ages at warp speed!

Halsfire said:

Just a thought...Does anybody else wonder wether this is the real Walt or smokey? It's most likely smokey, but what if it's not? Maybe Michael's lttle boat got picked up by Niomi's and Walt was on the heli with her...farfetched idea, I know, but it's possible.

The Eye said:

appendix to my prior post (forgot that Penny didn't know about Naomi's ship) -- This might be it: Naomi's crew got the coordinates from Penny's investigation by her father Charles Widmore. So Widmore would have to be interested in raiding the island. -- This is getting so off-topic now ...

The Eye said:

BobBX, not a bad idea with Walt warning Locke about the Ship-People! That's something I can see happening.

BrianisLOST, it happened like this: Mike and Walt drive off into the sunset while Penny sends the ship to investigate the coordinates given by the Antartica station. Both factions coincidentally meet in the middle of the ocean and when Walt finds out that Penny's people are about to raid the island he reaches out to Locke.

But this theory would raise a question: Penny's people are villains then? Why, when they are only there to find Desmond?
If they are DHARMA, they are back to bring the Hostiles to justice for killing all their people in the Purge?

Hm, this might be the camelback breaking straw right there: why would Penny send a cleaning commando to the island while she wants to find Desmond...

BobBX542 said:

Brianislost-That is genius. My friend said that Naomi's boat is probably just floating around looking for the island, and I thought that was stupid, but if Michael and Walt are "rescued" by this boat and questioned about where they came from and what happened to them, it might make them send out a small covert helicopter. And now that Walt knows that they are looking for the island for some nefarious reason, he tried to reach Locke with his Shining abilities. Oooh, that's good stuff right there.

maybe Jack is Jacob..and he keeps going back in time, making different decisions for a better outcome..

Long time reader, first time poster. Maz "Brilliant" post. Loved it. . . .

"I'm all cool with Walt; as long as Michael doesn't show his mug on the island ever again. I'm pretty sure caption on Season 2 read: ""chop chop, sound of shark chewing Michael""

BrianisLOST said:

*MaZ*: I'll bet that Michael & Walt are on the boat that Naomi claimed to be hers. I think the boat is actuallt that of the Hanso Foundation though.

elise: I think it's just you :)

is it just me or does Jack look like Jacob with the beard???????????????????

lol at He's now 37 years old...he did look a lot older. It's been a few months not years

yes, there were whispers before Walt appeared. I learned to watch Lost with the captioning on: they type the stuff you're not sure you heard right...rsrsr
And sure enough, the captioning said: "voices whispering"....
Anyway, I'm all cool with Walt; as long as Michael doesn't show his mug on the island ever again. I'm pretty sure caption on Season 2 read: "chop chop, sound of shark chewing Michael" ;)

Stardom009 said:

yep the ghosts one the island are manifested by jacob there hinting to that
jacob helped john to find the plane and the pearl hatch to make them meet the others and get to him(jacob) faster because he needs help and wants to be free.

Madam P said:

The only whispers I heard were the ones when Sawyer and Juliet were approaching the beach.

I think Ghost Walt (and Yemi, and Christian, and the black horse, etc...) are various manifestations of Smokie and have something to do with the island's "force"...

darinfic said:

i've watched twice now and i'm still not sure...are there whispers right before walt tells locke not to do it? i think i heard them but i'm just not sure if they were actual words (backwards or forwards). is my brain reaching?

Maxor127 said:

I think Walt was just the smoke monster. It seemed like a weird Yemi moment. The island was guiding Locke.

LĂșnasa Re said:

He is probably like 6' tall or something funny and they filmed him at that upward angle to give the illusion that he wasn't too old. "Hey kid, can you come back we need you for a 5 min scene" He shows up all big 'WHATS UP FELLAS'....

Desmond8MyPopRocks said:

I expected to next see Walt sporting a beard, a Kool hanging from his lip and a Linc from the Mod Squad 'fro.

cheers

Maybe only Locked can understand ghost Walt. If someone else was there, they'd see him too, but he'd be wet and talking backwards.

Bloody Rock God said:

Word on the killing Jackass! I'm still mad at him - I don't care how pathetic he is in the future.

This is clearly The Island assuming the form of Walt to deliver the message.

Funny, last night Jorge Garcia said on Jimmy Kimmel that he thought we'd be seeing Walt very soon. I knew he wasn't kidding...

Evangeline and Jorge both said the twist at the end was something completely unexpected. Now what do they do, though? Flash BACK to The Island for the final 3 seasons?

Crikey.

this is some crazy stuff said:

i really think he was actually there.

I think if they were showing us Walt the way we saw him after he was taken then i think he would be all wet and speaking backwards.

MarchonManhattan said:

I think its Jacob's way of helping Locke... remember Ben said "Well Jon, I hope he helps you"... Jacob takes the form of someone else? Just a theory...

Halsfire said:

They should have at least tried to alter his looks and voice just a little bit to make it seem like he hasn't aged so much.

WG?JIFFY said:

Wow what a difference a year makes! I thought the Island slowed the aging process!! LOL
