In 3x12, "Par Avion", we get a better look at the electrical map that Sayid took from The Flame station in 3x11, "Enter 77". The map shows the "barracks" where The Others live. It also has some indications about subterranean passages.
Mikhail asked Sayid to check the map to see if the security perimeter encircled the barracks. Indeed, the map does seem to show the pylons circling Camp Others.
Unfortunately, the map doesn't yield much else. It's very details, however, in terms of layout and positioning of the buildings located at the barracks.

I'm a little confused. In S3E1 when we see otherville it didn't look like there was any water close by. Yet Locke walked to the dock and sub??? Someone explain this to me please :)
After watching 3X13, where are the dock and submarine on this map? ???
#10 - the village only has mountains on the west side. They could have come towards the village from the east, thus no mountains. Since we have no idea how old the map is, and the Others have been living there quite some time, they could have cleared some land - those 2 cows need to graze - and who knows, they could have moved the pylons too. Or there could be more than one set of pylons, and the producers just didn't bother to show our intrepid adventurers going over the second inner ones.
I find the subterranian passages very interesting, but I bet we won't see much to do with them. I bet the island is riddled with them.
The two "pipes" or whatever they are (one is marked with lights, washer, etc.), are they the drainage pipes that we saw when Micheal and Sawyer were on the raft? The ones coming out of the cliff??
Looked to me that the woods were in a low spot (streambed?), which is why our intrepid folks were looking "upwards" towards the houses and football scene, but the village did look to be lower than the microwave fence was.
I noticed something strange... When you look at this picture from the othersville :http://lost.cubit.net/forum/gallery/1_04_10_06_11_08_22.jpg ... You see it's surrounded by dense forrest and mountains... But in this episode they seem to walse in there quite easily without going over any mountains... Also when they cross the pylons it appears to be a large open valley. On this map we see the pylons are fairly close to the village. But in the picture we only see the dense forest and no open valley...
So it's another village?
Yes, the sub is still around. Ben told Colleen to take the sub when they went to get the sailboat. And Sayid even said (when he learned about the sub) something like, "that's how they got to the sailboat without us seeing them".
I wonder if that submarine that Mikhail mentioned is still around?
Does the octogon in the upper left corner indicate a hatch?
Nope, You have to remember that Otherville is in upper ground.
The weird thing is that one tunnel goes straight to the tail crash site and the other at least start going to the direction of middle section. Why those parts fall on the way of the tunnels?
hrmmm 20 feet deep?? maybe it's full of water for the sub to travel....
That would explain how Goodwin and Ethan got to the crash sites quick enough. Must be a monrail or subway system. Who knows? Mass transit on an island?
It's gotta be some kind of James Bond underground monorail.
j/k
Cuz its underground? Look how far it goes back across the islad. Again, underground.
OK, so when they came to the big sonic fence, why didn't they change course and head for the "subterranean passage, 20' deep"???
