well I guess the "island" doesn't have "healing" capabilities i.e. Rose, Locke, and Sun (maybe even Charlie and Hurley). If it did then why can't the "others" possibly not be able to have children, and even more puzzling is why does Ben have an aggravated tumor?

Dawnster: Pregnant women are allowed to fly. Case in point: Claire was pregnant on the flight from Australia. I think maybe she was just making sure she wasn't pregnant so that she knew she could make a clean break from her husband.

AlecStone: I think you have a point about the Others not being able to have children, but I think you mean Eunuchs, and I doubt that's what the Others are. Eunuchs are people who can't have children, but it's not because they are sterile. It's a term that refers to men who have had certain....ummmmm.....parts surgically removed so that they can't have sex. Kings used to have it done to the men that were guarding their wives or their girlfriends to make sure they couldn't fool around. I'm sure hoping that hasn't happened to anybody on the Island.

I agree with all of your guys thoughts. I have now come to a sort of conclusion!

Ben and the others are all uniqes, wich are people who can't have kids. I strongly believein this. Either that or the children are dead!!! If they are not uniqes that what are they!!! Also, I believe either Ben kidnapped Alex to father her, or Ben is Alex's father. Maybe Ben was married to Daniel, and they crashed on the island together with Alex! Maybe Ben took Alex and ran...

I know that Daniel said she killed her husband, and the team, but maybe she was lying, or she didn't know Ben had survived! I don't know, this is a good plot for LOST though... Daniel also mentioned that her TEAM had the sickness, or some type of illness... Maybe that's why been had a tumor! Infected by radiation. Maybe everyone will get a tumor soon! REMEMBER THE HATCH = QUARANTINE!!!

I think Kate was hoping that she was pregnant. Because pregnant woman aren't allowed to fly, and since she couldn't go on the honeymoon because any attempt to cross the border with her passport...well you get what i mean. ;)

I didn't infer that Kate couldn't have kids. Rather, she thought she was pregnant and got scared. As the Fed stated, she wouldn't stay. It's in her nature to run. The pregnancy scare hit home for her and she realized she came very close to settling down to domestic bliss.

You may actually be onto something bigger here, maybe The Others cant have kids thats why they kidknap them. You would think Collet and Pickett (sp?) may have had kids but so far we havent seen them, people like Ethan, Goodwin, Tom were all healthy men and there seem plenty of female Others so you would think there would be children.
However untill we see where the children kidknapped from the tail section are being kept we dont know wether there are other children with them.

I think that Kate was trying to have a baby with this police-officer guy, but realized that she couldn't... like as in she couldn't have kids at all... Maybe that's why she gave it up to Sawyer, because you know it had to have crossed her mind, you know, the fact that she can't have kids... kinda like Sun with Jin! 8)

I first though that the test kit could have belonged to Shannon, no evidence, just a hunch, however maybe it did belong to Kate.
I would think it must have belonged to an American who was in Australia for a short time, Kate, Shannon, Ana Lucia for instance as I would think Widmore is more an American company than worldwide. Kate had a Widmore kit while she was in America.

I may well be wrong but there are not that many companys who are well known world wide, the likes of Pepsi, Coca Cola spring to mind. Now maybe TPTB are suggesting that Widmore is a huge world wide company but my initial instinct tells me its more likley an American company.

This theory isnt much help as it only really rules Claire out of owning the test kit and as she was already heavily pregnant I doubt she would have any need for the kit anyway.... unless she stole it from the medical station.

Her name was Kate Austin of the "manifest" of flight "815". She was with the marshall after he caught her so it's impossible for her to use an alias. I doubt it the kit has anything to do with Kate or anyone else on the island. I think the only reason it was highlighted in the first place was to show that it was Widmore Labs, to further that connection.

Did you notice the Oceanic tickets that Kevin had bought for their honeymoon trip to Costa Rica, maybe she traded the two in for one to Australia, do we know what her name was on the manifold of flight 816?

True. Of course, who knows what happened during the missing time... maybe she got locked in a cage with someone else. ;)

She was on the run in Australia for a while. Unless the old guy with the prosthetic "hit it", the kit on the plane shouldn't be hers.

The time frame may not work out. We do not know that she went to Austrailia right after she left Kevin.
