2x21: The Undertaker Notes

2x21 Undertaker NotesIn 2x21, "?", Eko visits an undertaker while investigating a local miracle. The undertaker plays a tape of the autopsy of a drowned girl who sprang back to life during the autopsy. There is an overhead shot of the tape player that includes some notes, presumably belonging to the undertaker. The notes contain what appears to be a production error in the top left corner, as the notebook is labeled as belonging to a medical center in Honoulu, Hawaii (where the production of LOST occurs).

Also, the notes don't appear to be notes from an undertaker. The notes are in regards to an emaciated patient who appears weak and dizzy. The patient is quoted as saying "I'd get sick if I didn't eat more", and is noted to be monitored day and night and kept on IV fluids.

Quote from: stephenjs Maybe she had anorexia and Hurley couldn't stop eating? But the notes say, "I'd get sick if I didn't eat more"  This leads me to believe that the patient (if it is a real patient) is more of an overeater than an anorexic.  Maybe she is bulemic?  I don't know, but I doubt with that comment she is anorexic.

I agree that this seems to be a note from a student nurse. I am not even sure if it is about a real patient. It seems as though it is someone practicing their documentation, i.e. the ?Black ink in the left upper corner, the "error=line through", and the listed objective of it being focused on one paitent and anthing going on with the patient. We use SOAP notes in my hospital, but the DARP model would serve the same purpose. A real paitent would have a label in the upper right hand corner. So, thankfully we are not dealing with a HIPPA violation!

God Bless HIPPA for givening me one more thing to have my hindend chewed off about. Amen.

Quote from: PandoraXI'm a doctor, and I agree, it's a standard nursing note (thank you for the acronym on what nurses use, though, aclapp... I never knew what DARP stood for, we write SOAP notes)... definitely not the "vitals of a dead girl", and not the kinds a coroner or medical examiner would have. It doesn't match, and I think the props dept got lazy, like they did with Jin's resume.BTW, it's from Queens Hospital, a real hospital in Honolulu which I've been to.  Someone's getting a call for a HIPAA violation!!!  :PMy feeling is also that it is a prop error, similar to the X-RAY seen in St. Sebastian Hospital. I also thought, if this is a prop error, it's got to be some kind of violation exposing patient info like this - even if there isn't a name attached. Heh.

Quote from: LadybugQuote from: siouxiesue1919I bet those are Hurley's medical records.  I don't know why records from Hawaii would be in Australia...but that's my guess! But it shows that the patient is 5'5" and weighs 95 lbs.  Wouldn't that be about the size of the Psychic's daughter?  Wouldn't these be her medical records?Ok, heh...nevermind then.  I was just basing it on the "getting sick unless they ate more" part. :)
